Said it’s a no brainer for Arkansas.

However they said for Freshwater not so much.

Key points
- he would be entering the west and recruiting against all of the others
- roster is so depleted that it would take years to get to respectability

They concluded:

that if it drags on for another day or so it would be because Fresh is digging deep into the current state of the program and seeing its to far gone for him to tackle.

- he’s got a good thing going at FAU and if he can just keep it going a better opportunity would ultimately present itself.

-They ended with, if I’m Kiffin i would want some strong, very strong contract language that Arkansas is going to give me a LOOOONNNGGG LEASH because the program is so bad that it will take years and years to rebuild to respectability. Aka guaranteed 8-10 year full salary ala Jimbo at ATM

Honestly it's not a good move for anyone other than an up and comer at the moment. Gonna be a tough hole to climb out of

frick Greg McElroy. That dumbass was hammering Arkansas last week for firing Chad Morris and now he has the audacity to say the “program is too far gone” or some bullshite?

fricking hope he gets mouth warts and grows into a wart infested Shrek and never works another day in his life in broadcasting. Tool.

Yep, commentators are almost always going to side with coaches. They want access and siding with coaches helps that most times.

If I'm Joey F I pass on this one. They are in a massive hole.

Keep slamming OT 7 cougars in Boca and wait it out.

CBSSports(Dennid Dodd) said something similar in relation to the Ole Miss job. The Ole Miss roster is head and shoulders above Arkansas.

quote:

Lane Kiffin, FAU coach:

I'm starting to think that when/if Kiffin makes the jump back up to the big time, it's got to be a perfect situation. Ole Miss is not that. And does Kiffin want to go against his old boss (Nick Saban) each year? At last check, Kiffin was more than happy in Boca Raton with sunshine and a luxury home in South Florida.

What? Kiffin would love to get a chance to go at him each year.

Why would an up and comer want to torpedo his career with Ole Miss, Miss St or Arkansas?

Those jobs are good for career coordinators who want to be a HC or a retread who is trying to establish himself as a good P5 HC.

Of course it better for Arkansas then Kiffin. Arkansas need to hire Gus so Auburn can Hire Kiffin. Kiffin at Auburn would be a blast for everyone but Saban.

McElroy is better at playing with balls than talking about it.

I mean they only won 2 more games than we did lol. Their coordinators were a million times better than ours though. Our OC was a GA at Clemson four years ago.

I could see the new coach needing 5 years but good Lord it shouldn't take 8-10 years to turn around anywhere. That's ridiculous.

I don't think it's as far gone as they believe. I just think they've been incredibly horribly coached the last two years.

It's not a complete rebuild, maybe a 2 year project.

Any decent coach would have won 6-7 games at Arkansas this year.

Ridiculous.

It would be better for Kiffin period.

He is in absolutely no consideration for a better job than Arkansas/Ole Miss. Nobody will take the chance because of his past antics and his pay is 1/3 of what he could make elsewhere.

So, if he is satisfied with sitting on the sidelines in boca at 1.5 and has no GUMPtion to go big, he needs to stay right there.

Imagine tripling your salary and in 4 years making what he would in 12 where he is at. Pish!!!
