Don’t we all know people who hated middle school and thought life would be better once they got to HS? People who hated HS but thought they would thrive in college? Then people in college who talked and talked about how great life would be once they graduated from college? I can’t imagine anyone enjoying life if you didn’t enjoy college. Maybe they found themselves and discovered life later? I doubt it. How you live is a choice, the sooner you figure that out the happier you are in my opinion.

Me, I did a double major in Math and Physics, and worked 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM 2-3 nights a week for most of my college years. It paid off huge with the good times I had in the years after college.

College was awesome but I always had a lot of stress and anxiety around the actual school part. It took everything in me just to graduate. Overall I like my life a lot better now. I kinda feel sorry for people who view college as the pinnacle of their life but to each their own.

I think I loved college too much
The year after when I lived and worked in Charlotte all I could think about was my 4 years there
Then after a year, work moved me to NYC and I like this 10000000 times better

Were they taking school too seriously?

If I would have been smart I would have buckled down and did well in school. If you graduate with a useful degree, get a good job, and don't get married or knock somebody up you should have all the time in the world to have the time of your life.

I was in engineering and working two jobs to prevent taking out loans. Not much time for anything else.

I’d say my best years were 30-35

Yeah I worked 40+ hours a week, went to afternoon/night classes, slept 5 hours a night for 5 years if I didn't go out to bars. Nights I went out was home at 2ish, sleep till 5:30 work at 6, during the week anyway.

Same here. I worked full time to pay for my own college. But I worked the graveyard shift so I could go to day classes. I had spots of fun but it was nothing like most experienced.

College mostly sucked for me. Years after college were awesome. Years building my family were even better

Agreed, I did night shift at Home Depot managing the stocking crew and unloading shipments. I was so sleep deprived but did enjoy the people I worked with. But damn if I didn't get any sleep.

Not complaining, just saying college was a means to an end for me, and Auburn opened up many doors for me, or maybe it was just my life experience coupled with degree. Who knows?

This. My first two years I drove over to Milliken in LaGrange every day and worked. My last two I had two part-time jobs and did landscaping on the side. In hindsight I should have been all in on the landscaping. Most bang for the buck.

It was fun, but I didn't really mesh well with the college crowd. I spent most of my on campus time doing engineering homework and group projects. I'm 25, post college, and I'd say I'm now having the time of my life. Don't let working 40 hours a week stop you from having fun. Screw sleep, get out on the weekdays and hang with people. Don't fall into the literal 'Netflix and chill' trap.

Yep. A brilliant dorky chick from BR. Perfect 36 on ACT. Valedictorian of the hardest school in Baton Rouge.

Went off to college of her choice. Fell for first guy she met and boned him. Got smacked around and pregnant and came home at end of year 1.

Me. I had to work to afford LSU and delivered pizzas my entire time there. It was extremely depressing to deliver to all these parties, frats, sororities, etc. and see all the fun they were having. I hated my experience.

My ex wife. I'm not saying it to be mean or out of spite. She went to ULL and even in Lafayette didn't partake in the nightlife or anything. Not really by choice, guy she dated in college spent most if not all his weekends playing world of warcraft.

Mine was chopped up by USMC/Iraq. It was a bittersweet time. Had fun when I was home, but was in a state of constant anxiety about having to leave again. Then I would leave and come back and it felt like I had aged 20 years. This happened twice in undergrad. Did alot of dumb shite that could have put me in jail and/or ruined my life. Got laid alot so there's that. Which is shocking considering how much I drank during that time. No regrets but would not recommend.
