Were they taking school too seriously?

Dated a girl who hated college and took a ridiculous amount of hours each semester and the summer semesters so she could graduate in three years.

She was in a sorority and went to parties, but continuously bitched about her workload.

I found that stretching it out to a five year plan made for a more enjoyable college experience.

"the time of my life?" No, but in retrospect, it was nice not having to worry about paying bills. I was also younger/healthier. Could stay up later. Needed less sleep.

I like the routine that work provides. 8-5 Monday through Friday. Can spend my time how I see fit when I get home. It's not like I wake up at 7 AM on Mondays, 12:00 PM on Tuesday, etc.

You probably know how I feel about that school but I commend you for going after you served. I bet you were just a hair more focused than those shitebirds right out of HS. Did you happen to go back in as an O after you graduated?

I hated college. I worked 60 hour weeks and starved myself.

I do like the no student loan payments though.

I enjoyed my college years but my 30's were far better

Money in my pockets and fun friends made for an amazing decade

From personal experience I hated college. I wasn't set up well, as I had moved in middle school from New Hampshire (extremely high end education state) to Louisiana (extremely low end education state) and I never had to learn how to study or use time management skills because school was just too damn easy. I had a major surgery at the beginning of my junior year which radically changed my plans, and everyone pushed me into Engineering because I was "smart". So I got to college, had no idea how to manage time, study, and was stuck in classes I hated, which lead to me skipping a ton of classes originally. This lead to an awful first semester, and then some underlying depression and anxiety issues kicked in, which again I was not set up to deal with (my parents were pretty religious), and I ended up graduating with a 2.59 GPA. I hated college, it was a horrendous time in my life, but I have the paper, have a CPA, and now I'm on the upward swing at a CPA firm after spending some time in government.

I was a server and bartender during college. I had so much fun but it wasn't due to college, it was outside of it. Women just throw themselves at bartenders. I recommend that job to any young person.

Looking back now, it was great fun. At the time, very stressful for me.

Yes. I had a roommate that was so focused on med school that he didn't even get laid.

Did he get into med school?

It's more of an 18-22 thing than a college thing, imo.
