I think you’re going to see emery in there quite a bit if they keep rushing 4

Agree because you do t want your secondary trying to tackle Emory. They will get trucked.

And Burrow still threw for 350 yds and 5 tds in 3 quarters of work. Quit worrying. LSU is about to roll these chumps!

Another thing I noticed against Utah St and other teams, our RBs are dodging a free rusher in the backfield on nearly every run. They have done a good job of avoiding the free rusher, but that is not a good recipe for running the ball well.

You see this a lot running out of shotgun formations. There is a way to combat this, but it involves running Burrow (something I’d like to avoid if possible). Or just go straight up triple option plays.

It's hard to defend a guy who runs a 4.4 back pedaling or running backwards not knowing where the ball is going.

They drop 7 into coverage, we'll run for 250

You can have 8 guys fitting in the run game and still drop 7. LBs and safeties read keys. For example an OLB may be reading end man on LOS. If he down blocks he knows it’s run and he fits in the run. If he pass blocks he knows it pass and gets into his drop. This is why we have to use the RPO a bunch. Make them wrong in their reading their keys. RPOs put OLB and Safeties in tough spots.

They will do this very little. Fla dc brings pressure majority of the time.

According to Andy Staples of The Athletic online magazine, Florida rushed more than 4 only twice out of 61 plays against Auburn. I think that will be their strategy initially against LSU until we prove we can handle their 4.

Burrow can also take off and run if they drop everyone in coverage. He ain't slow either.

Tyrion Davis Price is the solution, give that bull the ball and tell him to crash into the line

My only concern about this game is that Fla will be able to get pressure with 4 and drop 7 and cover our WRs with numbers. Utah St rushed 3 and dropped 8 with some success at times getting to Burrow. Obviously, Fla’s defensive line is way better than Utah St. Anyone else see this as a problem?

If they are getting to Burrow? Yes.

Otherwise. Not at all.

It is going to be the playbook on how to beat LSU. If they get quick pressure with four, then we have problems. When they need to bring five or six, we will be ok. But Florida's DB's are the best we faced so far, so Fla will rush as many as it takes to get to Burrow quickly. If Joe can stand back there long enough to get through his progressions, it's bad news for Florida.

Was that do to Auburn being pass happy or auburn running the read so backers staying home?

Different style offenses, like to see that same report against a similar style offense.

I think our O-line is ready to surprise some people. They held up pretty well against some pretty complicated blitzes from UT. They are all experienced and talented. I think they can surprise some people against Florida’s 4-man rush.

This is not what I saw against Auburn. I saw a few five man rushes. Mostly I saw them faking five, and at the snap one would drop into coverage. This forced the line to account for five, but only four rushed. I saw a few times where two of the five dropped into coverage, and only three rushed. Caveat: This is the only Florida game I’ve seen this year.
