Clyde is steady and always executes, but he is not explosive.

I understand giving him 90% of the reps in a hostile environment, not wanting to put a freshman out there.

But at what point will John Emery make a move for more playing time? Not one play last night. I'm wondering what is holding back "the best back in the country."

Blocking? Not knowing the plays?

He “got small” several times last night and just blew through the line for chunk yardage.

CEH is Dalton Hilliard 2.0. Cat quick and powerful with good instincts and excellent receiving skills but just isn’t a HR threat. He definitely should have a prominent role.

I was more disappointed in the # of snaps Fournette got. I know he tries hard and is a tough runner/receiver but he just doesn’t have the skills of the 2 Fr. I do understand holding them back on the big stage on the road.

If you watch the last 3rd & 17 play for the TD -- it was CEH's KEY block that allowed Burrow to get out of the slammed pocket and pass to the WR

if LSU had wanted to be more balanced, with the way they were passing the ball, CEH would have eaten on the ground.

Consider this, on LSU's last 2 scoring drive, they ran 12 plays. 10 were passes. The second-to-last one was capped by a CEH 12 yd TD run that was wide the frick open.

Never have i seen a fan base complain about a running back coming off a 5.8 ypc game.

No one is talking about how terrible Fournette was, the guy this board clamored over all offseason. He should never get carries.

I saw a few nice spins and stiff-arms. They can’t all be Leonard Fournette

I think CEH is getting far more criticism than he deserves. He's not a huge home run threat but he's got great lateral quickness and a NASTY spin move. He also is a powerful runner, a decent pass catcher, and a good pass blocker. He's quite obviously the most complete back on the team at this point imo.

Granted he doesn't scare anyone like an LF7.

But he is a solid SEC back.

He was pretty good but everybody was saying he's like early Mark Ingram. I just wanted to see Emery get some carries.

Clyde made a key block last night on that last TD drive. Look at the video replay. That LB (believe it was the LB) came so close to wrapping up Joe on that blitz. Clyde delivered a not so perfect block but it was enough to free Joe and allow him to step up into the pocket and deliver the pass. The rest is history and will go down as a classic effort. I've replayed that play at least a dozen times now. Everyone delivered on that pass, including the O/L.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire was in the middle of the brawl.

People need to forget his goddam recruiting ranking. He’s been practicing with the team and they know what they have in him.

He will get his touches and earn his playing time like everyone else, when the time is right. Until then, Clyde is our best back.
