Has anyone here done this? Do you find it is helpful when going through screening?

What a janky question.

Sure it's a good thing, as long as the machines at MSY ain't broke.

And I've seen them broke.

Yes, worth every penny at busy airports.

No it's not helpful. I feel much safer having to take my shoes and belt off and subject my junk to the screener perv.

There have been a few threads on the travel board on this topic.

It really depends. What airport do you usually fly out of? What time? Are you with other people that might not have pre-check? Do you usually fly for work where you would be carrying a laptop?

I got it just to spend even a minute less in the security theater at the airport. Nothing makes my angrier faster than standing in line at security.

Yes, it is well worth the time and money. The lines are shorter and you don’t have to take off your shoes or take out your laptop, etc.

There are plenty of times where the time difference is minimal

That said, not having to take stuff out of your bag or take off your shoes or belt is worth it.

I fly nearly every week and now I won't travel without it. Even when I don't fly as much, I will keep it. It's not even $20 per year

Thanks. No I only fly for pleasure and might carry an ipad at most. Travel with the wife and two kids (7 & 10)

It's like $89 for 5 years. Pays for itself in about 1 or 2 airport visits. Comes in handy even in airports like BTR but especially useful in bigger airports.

Some airports are different even with pre-check with what you have to take out of your bag, etc. but you can always keep your shoes, belt, etc. on (at least in my experience). Still extremely useful.

Yes. Just bite the bullet.

The government is already reading all your communications. I have a principled issue with paying them to give them permission, but you know what? I got to skip about 250 people the other day in line at MSY.

ETA: I don’t think it’s all that useful at small airports. It is very much so at larger ones
