Nine pharmacies across the state are licensed to sell the product. Special delivery services picked up the product from GB Sciences, the state’s grower partnered with LSU, Tuesday morning. More than 120 doctors have signed on to issue medical marijuana orders.

It's a great day for Louisiana and a lot of needlessly suffering resident patients.

Also a great day for all the pharmacies that have been paying leases on buildings and equipment while waiting to be allowed to open their doors.

Good to see we're making people really work for it to get their hands on this dangerous, dangerous substance.

This will morph into more than medical usage. Af current, the medical requirements are fairly limited but they’ll broaden to include things like anxiety and/or depression. Then the usage is going to explode like in other states.

It’s a step in the right direction. But it is also a very small step. I’ve seen first hand how much that stuff can calm people undergoing chemo, and how some forms work well and others less so. The patients need a variety of options, not just one single liquid product. I hope the market matures.

Poor guy. He will be "randomly" searched and pulled over ceaselessly for the rest of his days.

I hope this give people suffering the relief they need. Question: Why the hell is insurance not covering a legally prescribed drug? Is this big pharma’s doing?

Definitely a great step but still so nannyish with the no smoking option. Baby steps I guess.

Louisiana is gonna frick it all up though.

A new and pure multi billion dollar business is like a fresh canvas for the politicians to paint their masterpieces of the corruption age
