Shoot me straight on crossover SUVs

39 year old male, wife(no pics) and kids. Live in the burbs
Been looking at sedans and don’t want to spend the money for a full size SUV (Tahoe, Explorer, etc).
I rented a car last week and all they had was a Nissan Rogue. I’m not gonna lie, I kind of liked it.
Shoot me straight though, no way a middle aged male can get away with buying a hybrid crossover type- Rogue, Morano, RAV4, CRV, can they?
If I do buy one should I go ahead and turn in my man card and get a rainbow sticker for the back window?
I can’t imagine that many males drive crossover SUVs

Drive whatever you want and don’t worry about other peoples opinions.

I see plenty of guys driving them. They look confident. I'm not sure you have what it takes.

I’m just worried the soccer moms won’t be impressed when I pull up. Even with a 30A sticker

So you're really just looking for a mini-van that doesn't have a sliding door.

If you like it, buy it.

I drive an Equinox. Love it. Still get laid.

Just get a sedan. It’s the same thing except the crossover is a little taller and has way less storage space

Is there a rule that says a middle aged male isn't allowed to drive a crossover? Don't worry about what other people think.
A rav4 is a very solid vehicle. Not everyone needs a full SUV. However, sometimes people want a little more than what a sedan offers. That is why we have crossovers.

They're station wagons. Call them what you want, but they're station wagons.

Buy a Volvo wagon cross-country.
The 70 should be out soon.

Drive what’s comfortable for you and your family.

My wife has a loaded Kia Sorento. She hates big SUVs. I hate them for her cause I know she’s gonna hit everything imaginable in it. When we go somewhere as a family, we take it and I drive. I’ve never once thought about what other people thought about me driving it. But then again, I don’t ever think about things like that

They look less dorky than minivans, are less functional than minivans, and are great for kids.
It’s essentially a bigger sedan/station wagon. Usually better mpg than suv’s.
If you really didn’t give a frick you’d get a minivan

36...same situation. Bought a Murano. One of the best vehicles I’ve ever purchased
It’s really the wife’s car but on the weekends it’s our primary. I enjoy driving it

Ford Edge ST.
Quick, comfy, plenty of cargo space for a 4 person family. All the safety tech you could want. I have a 2015 Edge Sport which is basically the same thing. I love it.
ETA: Also can get close to 30mpg highway if you stay out the boost. It's has averaged over 22 overall since we bought it.
