Two scenarios:

1. Out in the wide open. A 1,500 lb. Kodiak Bear is going to charge you 100% intent on killing you unless you can kill it first. Starts 100 yards away. You are prepared and know it’s going to charge.

2. Same scenario except four big wolves from the front, sides and behind.

Which firearm (that you own) would you use in each scenario?

Probably my AR. 41 rounds of Mk262 should be enough for anything.

Gun aside, I'm wondering which scenario gives you your best chance of survival.

Are the wolves also 100 yards away?

I think I'd rather take my chances getting away or surviving the bear than the wolves (assuming their intent is to kill me, which likely will never happen in real life in the wild with a pack of wolves).

Ar-15 for the wolves is the easy choice.

Tikka T3 .30-06 for the bear. Only thing I own with enough horsepower, only 4 slow shots though.

Definitely would prefer the wolves. They're overgrown dogs and dogs dont handle being shot very well. A bear is an overgrown coon which is a bullet sponge.

That's about 6 seconds to make a kill shot. Assuming bear and wolf run 35mph which is what I found on google.

How much ft/lbs of energy to kill a bear? 2500 according to google(not sure how accurate). What can deliver that at 100 yards and also allow good second and third shots.

Wolves would need less firepower and more quick shots so no clue. Maybe and AR15 would work.

22 caliber pistol for the bear
SBE2 with 3.5in 00 Buck and slugs for the wolves and the bear

The 22 pistol would be to shoot myself after unloading the shotgun. While I have shot many a running animal I’m not very confident in my ability to hit pretty much a softball size target loping at 30mph that is intent to kill me.
Watching videos of PHs and guides shoot bears and buffalo at point blank range with no visible panic is impressive to say the least.

If we're being realistic on stopping power, probably a 458 win mag/ lott controlled round feed.

Possibly a guide gun style 45-70 with hotloads based on capacity.
