Baseball hitters are frauds. Without the speed of a 98 mph fastball they cant hit it further than a lazy pop fly. We first learned this from Rookie of the Year when that kid was winning games for the cubs. Manufactured entertainment. Scripted games??? Government conspiracy?? Are they putting opioids in our hot dogs??
Trout cant really hit a ball that far. Its obvious there is a green screen. shite they've been doing in Boston for 100 years and people haven't realized the purpose of that big arse wall

I hadn't seen any position player pitching (while I was actively watching a game, not just highlights) yet this season until the other night.
The Pirates brought in back up OF/1B Jose Osuna to pitch against the Cardinals in a blowout game. He was touching 94. I was surprised when his first pitch of the game was 92, and then he hit a few 93s, and then up to 94 for at least 2 pitches. It was crazy.

That's awesome stuff. I wonder how long they'll ride that novelty.

Don't forgot Chris Davis has also pitched for the Orioles this year as well, and recorded a strikeout.
I was there, me and the potentially dozen other fans in the stadium went wild. You could almost hear us.

Wilkerson was lobbing 55+ mph slow pitch softball type pitches.
That's hilarious. I topped out at 75 MPH when I was a 14 years old pitcher.

That's what I love. Wilkerson isn't even trying out there. I think the tendency of a lot of guys in that situation would be to overthrow it. He's doing the opposite.

He's hitting the strike zone though.

you are aware that he CAN throw faster but is actively choosing not to, correct? just wanting to make sure...

Lol that’s how my undersized 10 year old pitches in Mustang. Very effective.
If only his INFIELDERS COULD CATCH POP-UPS!! damnit

Reminds me of the time Jose Canseco offered to pitch an inning. He was throwing heat in the bullpen, but only threw knuckle balls when he entered the game.
Turns out he hurt his elbow warming up, and ended up having Tommy John surgery.
I think Canseco had the ball bounce off his head for a HR only a few days before he tore his elbow pitching. It was a bad week for him.

Didn’t some guy run through an outfield wall one time in the Minors ?

Another reason why baseball is unwatchable.

That's a 2.25 ERA.
I don't know what his FIP and something plus is

My favorite save story is when the Rangers beat the Orioles 30-3 some years back, and a reliver got credited with a save because he pitched 3 innings to finish the game.
Super clutch nailing down that 30-3 game

Very aware. Just pointing out that these professional hitters were seeing faster pitches when they were 12-13 years old.
