4 bids.

I went with the cheapest, only because I saw his work and contacted two previous customers of his.

Both had no issues with him, so it made my decision fairly easy. It worked out very well for us.

Instead of a pool I joined the country club down the road from my house. Would take 100 yrs of paying the summer pool membership to equal price of an in ground pool.

Don't. Seriously. Don't do it.

If you want it and you have the money, fine. But do not finance a pool.

if it is unmarked bills like ones or fives you should be able to get about 20% discount.

What is your current mortgage rate at?

If it is at todays current rate or higher look into doing a Renovation loan. You can get a conventional refinance at today's rate and and finance as much of it as you want including closing costs and it is not considered a texas a6 cashout(assuming Texas as your profile says so)

My email is in my biography if you want more info on the renovation loan. Usually the best route to go depending on what your current interest rate is at.

Moved into a house with a pool 5 years ago, and my kids (now aged 9,5, 3) LOVE it. It is worth the maintenance. In 5 years we have gotten amazing use out if the pool. I also love my kids more than anything. That said, I don’t love them $50,000 worth to ever consider buying them a pool, if the house didn’t already have one. frick that shite.

I'm almost in the same boat as you. My kids were 9 and 11 when we bought a house with a pool 3 years ago. We use it every weekend. Hell we rarely vacation anymore, my wife will spend 1/2 the day on Saturday laying by the pool reading a book.

It seems like a no-brainer to buy a house with a pool already built because they are expensive as hell and add no resale value. It's like getting the pool for free.

As far as chemicals, I just ran out of chlorine tablets yesterday and looked back on Amazon...I bout a bucket for $100 last March and I usually add 1 gallon of bleach per week. I've spent around $250 for chemicals far an entire year and I only run my pump 7 hours/day. That's not too bad IMO.

Pools can be worth it for the homeowner, my wife loves ours, but with that said, I would never finance one.

We pay $400/yr for a membership to a swim and tennis club. The chemicals for a pool per year would be more expensive than that.

This. Ours was mile from the house and had a bar and concession stand. I got to play tennis and hang with friends. Kid's swam their asses off for four summers. Way better than having to pay for a pool.

I do want one of those baller outdoor kitchens if I'm thinking about wasting a bunch of money on something.
