This thread is just a curiosity deal.

How do you do it? I'm a cast right/reel right kinda guy. But I learned along time ago.

Lefties, just reverse it.

I’m right handed and I cast with my right hand, reel with my left hand. No time wasting hand switching here

I cast right, reel left with spinning reels. Righty righty with bait casters. Weird, I know. I broke my left arm as a kid, that has something to do with it.

Cast right with all.

Reel right with casting.

Reel left with spinning because I am not a tard.

I’m a lefty. Cast with left and reel with right.

I don’t use spincast but why do majority of people use opposite hand to reel? I see it all the time... they’ll reel with right hand with a baitcaster and left with a spinner.

I can cast a baitcaster with either hand.

I mainly learned to do this because there is alot of current where I fish and the boat can be turning around.

Cast with my left reel with my right.

Dad wouldnt let us fish with an open face reel until we could cast left handed. Pawpaw said you need to cast left handed so you dont have to switch hands when the bait hits the water. Has served me well, I can cast from both sides equally horribly.

I'm a righty but taught myself to cast with left hand, reel right. You would be surprised how many bites you miss making the transition. When I cast I immediately turn and click in the return when the bait hits the water and can feel the bait (plastic) sink. Oh and bait caster, no spinners here.

You can unscrew those handles and put them on the other side. I can send instructions if youd like.

Cast right reel left on both skinning and baitcaster. I’m right handed. I have to have the rod in my dominant hand for working baits and setting hooks. It’s the most efficient way for me.

Baitcaster cast right reel right

Spinning cast right reel left

I cannot think of a single person I fish with that casts a spinning reel right handed and reels with the right hand. Don’t know why just the way it is.

<---- I'm a Lefty of course. The rod never leaves my left hand on both a Baitcast and Spinning. Retrieve with my right.

Either hand retrieve and either hand to cast. I can cast, pitch, flip or skip equally well. Bait caster or spinning

Fly rod I have to cast with right hand, most definitely look like a total retard trying to cast left handed.

Don't get that either especially since you can swap the handle over on a Spinning.

I can not reel and fight a fish with my right for some reason

always swap my handles on spinning reel and reel with my right hand like any self respecting angler

Some people are just "tards".
