- LeBron James ego turned off Paul George from wanting to play in Los Angeles

- LeBron James was the one who didn't play any defense throughout the year and blamed it on his teammates

- LeBron James' high school pal was the one who foolishly tried to force NOLA into trading AD, blowing this thing wide open and ruining team chemistry

- LeBron James was the one who passive aggressively demanded that Luke Walton be fired and his old unqualified pal Ty Lue be given the job.

That’s taking a short term view of it.

LeBron has fricked up in LA but it mainly exposed the deep dysfunction at all layers of the Laker organization.

The team chemistry issues are on him.

The utter dysfunction in the front office? That’s on Jeannie Buss and her hires. And that has a much bigger effect on bringing in FAs and keeping players on the court than LeBron being an a-hole.

Because everything was going so well for the Lakers before Lebron came to town

The Lakers have been a disaster since Kobe tore his achilles and Jerry Buss died all of which happened long before LeBron arrived in LA.

That's ironic because it seems his teammates were the ones trying to force him to play defense:

This season in conjunction with all the MJ/LeBron debates and nostalgic YouTube basketball watching really soured me on LeBron. Dude knew what he was signing up for this team, dude ok’d all the short-term acquisitions, dude defrauded the entire country with the #BackInNoTime tweet concerning the groin stuff, dude can’t play defense anymore, dude throws his teammates under the bus, dude tried to trade away the entire roster and obliterate team chemistry, hell even MAGIC left HIS organization, shite wasn’t bad enough for him last season (same W-L record remarkably), LeFraud caused all this shite. Mental midget.

I won't say it's 100% on Lebron, but he certainly should get some of the blame.

He is a worse coach killer than D. Howard. He has run off every single coach outside of Spo (who had Riley's support and no one rules over Riley), and he has run off a good number of his teammates/potential teammates too.

Kyrie/Lebron on the Cavs this year still has a chance to win the whole thing if they had gone out and gotten some bench pieces.

“LeBron never really (listened to Coach Brown),” O’Neal said in 2011, according to NBC Sports.

quote:

“And I remember LeBron looking at me, and he said, ‘Don’t you ever get the itch?’ I said, ‘The itch for what?’ He said, ‘The itch to coach again?’ I said, ‘No, I don’t have the itch.’ He didn’t ask any more questions, and I didn’t offer any more answers. But I know what it meant, and I always go back and wonder about what he was thinking at that time. He walked out scratching his leg like it was itching,” Riley said.

quote:

Upon James’ grand return to Cleveland in the 2014-2015 season, it didn’t take long for him to butt heads with then-coach David Blatt. James can deny this all he wants, but at the end of the day, Blatt was unceremoniously fired and replaced with James’ close ally Tyronn Lue.

And add Walton after one season

Management thought everybody would want to come play with Lebron. Turns out, nobody wants to play with Lebron.

And yet, they were a 50 win team when LeBron was on the floor and a 30 win team when he was off of it.

Lebron actually met Rich Paul selling jerseys out of his trunk (maybe back in high school).

It’s never a player’s fault. All these decisions were made or botched by GM’s and presidents.
