Been a good while but I don’t remember it being that bad. It’s just expensive for what you get, like Olive Garden. You end up paying the same or probably more than going to a solid local joint

Had it for the first time last week. Lobster is overrated in my opinion but I enjoyed the crab legs.

Probably 1972 or so because that's where my date wanted to go.

Me and the wife went in early 2003.Remember the date because Miami and Ohio St played in the NC that night. Did not like it at all and never went back, until this December. I won an award at work that came with a 25 dollar RL gift card. Ordered something called a Captain’s Platter online. Stopped by after work and the total was 16.00. I left the remaining 9.00 as a tip as I knew I’d never go back. Food was as I remembered 16 years earlier.

I have never set foot inside a Red Lobster.

I have a mild allergy to crustaceans.

I have considerable disdain for the crabs.

On topic... At least 30 years ago.

I’ve never been to one, but my experience with chains is very limited, mostly I haven’t lived where there are many of them around.

What is sad is that the one in New Orleans has been that popular for that long.

Louisiana has no shortage of good seafood restaurants. Why go to Red Lobster?

A decent biscuit is not worth the experience of dining at Red Lobster.

That was the Sizzler. The western sizzlin was across from Florida Blvd Baptist church. Was a Mexican place for years afterward. Next to that hardware store and a funeral home

Yep, Sizzler and Western Sizzlin' were 2 separate businesses with similar names. El Rancho Mexican Restaurant is now in the old Western Sizzlin' building.

For several years in the mid to late 70's after my father died, my Mother would take us kids out to eat every now and then to decent yet affordable places around Baton Rouge. I have memories of both of these steak houses, and Europe's Restaurant and La Fonda's on Airline, as they were some of her favorites.

I think we only ate at the Red Lobster once, and that was just a week or so before the murders. It was such big news around Baton Rouge, such a shockingly grisly crime for our city. Red Lobster closed and left Baton Rouge after that. I remember that they did try to re-open several years later, but I think the local's memory of the highly publicized gruesome murder attached to the company's name prevented it from having much staying power here. This, plus all of the new local seafood restaurants that were opening at the time were 100% better, with fresher quality seafood than Red Lobster.

I have to admit that even today, whenever I see a Red Lobster commercial, I still think about that crime.

You went to Red Lobster when you were in Panama City? That was dumb. PCB is touristy of course but there are many incredible seafood places all around that area.
