It was off on the side street by Toys R Us

I’ve never set foot in a red lobster. Although I have heard the biscuits are pretty damn good

Living in south Louisiana and eating seafood at a chain restaurant is blasphemy
There is no shortage of disgusting local seafood restaurants in South La, Red Lobster would be a step up from some of them.

I'm a bit surprised by this thread. I'm not sure what some of you expected wiht your red lobster experience? It's an average american chain restaurant, no different than a chilis or applebees. You know exactly what your'e getting; moderate taste, moderate service, moderate prices. Some of yall act like you walked in expecting commander's palace and were shocked that RL isn't it.
I'm not really a RL fan and can't tell you the last time I've been to one, but I mean to act like I'd rather die than set foot in one is a bit much.

have some step family members who live in Kentucky. Rural Kentucky. When they come down it's a big deal for them to go to Chilis.
My god, this is so sad.

Red Lobster was the nice place to take a date or hold special occasion dinners in the podunk AL backwater where I grew up.
Yep. Growing up I thought Shrimp Scampi from Red Lobster was the height of refined dining. I turned my nose up at my trashy brother ordering the popcorn shrimp.
As to last time I went to Red Lobster, I have no idea. Probably around the year 2000.

Coonasses are seafood snobs... with good reason.
The RL in Lafayette only made it a couple of years. I couldn’t believe someone even tried to open it.

Really? This thread is going exactly as I thought it would.
Last time I went to one was ~4 years ago. Co-worker was leaving the clinic and it happened to be a place that a bunch of military folks could afford.
It's just an inexpensive, quick way to change your food routine up a little bit. It's not trying to be some 5-star dining experience like the elite of this board are accustomed.

2004. Although I do occasionally mix up a homemade version of their biscuits.

Never been. I’m neither poor nor am I white trash.

Never set foot in one. Heard about the biscuits but not worth the effort.

For a chain store their food is actually exceptional. It's the old geezer/30 year old casino restaurant type atmosphere that turns people off in a major way. In the early 90s the old Red Lobster in Jackson was very much like a seafood place you'd find on the gulf coast. That changed when they homogenized their stores.

bawtch please! next you'll be saying Golden Corral is a primo steak house, RL is a disgusting abomination of a "restaurant," don't know what is they serve but it doesn't appear to come from the sea, and it hardly passes for food

Same here. However, when my stepson was in high school he thought going there was the epitome of "fine dining" because of their "All You Can Eat" feature on some entrees.

Eating at RL is certainly no worse than eating the slop they serve at Taco Bell and thinking it’s Mexican

Our kids used to love Red Lobster, as did we.
Some of you upity mfer s need to get y’alls head outchalls arse.

My wife was a GM with Red lobster for several years and I’ve only ate there a handful of times and could eat for free. Growing up on the gulf makes you a little spoiled .

You're full of doo doo, and that's the problem.
