I actually can stomach Capt Ds better than RL

We were in Mississippi and ate at red lobster due to lack of available choices. I went in with captain ds level expectations. Captain Ds is way better

I never eat it unless I’m on the coast,

So the ones on the coast serve fresh seafood? I always assumed all Red Lobsters got their food from the same warehouse.
I always thought it was crazy that the ones at the beach had full parking lots because of all the other choices along the coast that serve fresh seafood.
Are the menus the same on the coast or do they have a custom local menu?

Edit
Never mind I see where you were talking about seafood in general not Red Lobster. I have noticed a lot of people at the Red Lobsters along the coast though and have never figured out why.

I think that was the last one I ate at sometime around 1993.

I would think the flood finished it off if it wasn't already

Ate at one a few years ago b/c we had a gift card to it for some reason and we had just gotten back from Maine and my wife wanted lobster. We knew it wouldn’t be good but we figured we’d give it a shot.
Service was terrible, place stinked, and the food was overpriced shite.

But the biscuits were fricken awesome and I pick up the box of them at the grocery store from time to time.

. A manager was murdered in the late 70’s and the place closed down and stayed empty for several years. Then the building was razed and the slab sat a couple of years then Red Lobster built another brand new restaurant on the same spot. It was open several years then closed and sat empty before being demolished.

Ok, I remember the 2nd RL but I didn't know about the first one. I didn't know about those murders.

I remember Western Sizzler being on Florida Blvd, I think between Airline and Wooddale, right?

Well the Sizzler was different. There was one across from in order iirc a Globe (like a kmart), a flea market, Cox cable and I don't know what now. There was also one in Cortana Mall for a time.

Western Sizzler was down Florida near Sherwood and Sharp.

Both were cafeteria style steak houses but the Sizzler was more high end than the Western Sizzler.

They were both big chains at one time. Western Sizzler more just in the South. Sizzler was nation wide. I saw one in NYC one time

This was all 70's ish time period.

I think the buildings are still there, just different businesses

Destin, FL July 2002

Got the food to go at our hotel and when I opened the box I found the food to be covered in pubic and other hairs. I called the restaurant and laid into them. When I got off the phone my brother told me he dropped my food on the floor and scraped it back into to go box. We have had many good laughs about it.

I’m trying to remember that. Seems to me it was farther towards Lobdell maybe Ardenwood? Not sure.

Of you simply want lobster, it’s not a bad deal

You actually get fresh live lobster for a good price, plus delicious biscuits. Lobster at a lot of your fancy restaurants actually won’t be as fresh as red lobster, and there is no real skill needed for cooking lobster

Everything else on that menu is a terrible idea

Never been to one.

Is it a step up from frozen fish sticks?

Only when I go to the coast cause I like fresh seafood. The fried halibut and a caesar salad with ranch dressing is the best

I cant wait til they accept EBT cards.

That was the Sizzler.

The western sizzlin was across from Florida Blvd Baptist church. Was a Mexican place for years afterward. Next to that hardware store and a funeral home

I think the Globe was across the street by where the old Wison’s jewelers was? Behind it.
Was it the Howard Brothers building before Howard Brothers? And Sears was across Ardenwood.

If I remember the building you are talking about was a Shoppers Fair. Had a Lum’s Hot Dogs out front.

About 03 in podunk Pennsylvania outside Pittsburgh. Ordered fried shrimp that still had frost on a few from the freezer. I guess the microwave didn’t heat all the way.
