Must head a bit south of town and eat at Pirinis Ranch. Must try the bread pudding.

Sweetwater has the worlds largest rattlesnake roundup. I think that’s in March, but not sure. Abilene has a Frontier Texas museum if you like that’s stuff. It’s downtown. They have a zoo. Not real big but big enough.

I remember there was an real good Mexican restaurant in the mall. It had a waitress that never wrote down the orders because she could remember them all in her head.

Holy shite... I haven't been to Abilene in about 17 years but as soon as I saw this I smiled. I don't know about now but that place was the shite back in the day.

Lytle Land & Cattle Co. if you go to Abilene and don't eat there you're wasting your trip.

If it’s still open you should ride over to Sweetwater and eat at Allen’s restaurant. Good food served boarding house style.

How do you know about Allen's? I went to school with the son of the family that owns it. Grew up in S'water.

I have lived here for 40 years. We travel a lot.

Definitely try to make it to Perini’s. Perini’s is located in Buffalo Gap. It is a great steak house. Try a Garrison Brothers on the rocks with poppers and quail legs for an appetizer. Then the prime rib followed by bread pudding. I like the zucchini Perini.

The Beehive steakhouse in Abilene is also very good.

If you want Mexican food try Miguel’s in Abilene. Be careful of the margaritas.

There really isn’t much to see in Abilene. Frontier Texas will give a historical account of the area. Dyess AFB has the B-1 bombers. There is a small bar scene in the SODA district. The wind turbines are impressive if you can get close to one.

Good luck.

That's where I'll be

Going to try and check out some old POW camps and check out the former base in Big Spring, where my dad was stationed.

Might have to try this place in Buffalo Gap

Thanks for the info
