So what you guys think the floor is this year? I’m thinking 10-2 the absolute worst but I believe we should go 11-1. With the returning talent we have and the impact freshman. The biggest obstacle will be our pass pro and having our OT step up. Deculus is the biggest question I have, the guy is just tooo slow to block the edge rushers in the SEC. I think Charles will have a better season. But if our offense has really changed and we can get the ball out quick (2 step drops, RPOs) then we can minimize those problems. I’ll believe it when I see it during the season tho. What y’all say?

I expect an SEC Championship or playoff berth. Anything less is a failure.

Also any word on how Wire and Rosenthal are developing? Tired of putting OGs at tackle. We need true OTs with length and quick feet. I do believe O is realizing that on the recruiting trail tho

Anything less than a 10-2 regular season would be a total failure. The schedule is there, QB, defense, and all around experience.

11-1 and somehow missing the CFP wouldn’t be a failure imo.

That’s an outstanding season by any measure and will have us in the top 5, either in or just out of the CFP depending on the rest of the field.

That is the bar for success this year and I’ll be 100% satisfied even if we aren’t picked by the BS committee.

10-2 may not be total “failure” but it would definitely be underachieving.

11-1 means either of two things:

1. They beat Bama and lost to another team
2. They lost to just Bama

Either scenario should almost certainly result in either an SEC Championship appearance or a playoff appearance. LSU is favored in 11 of 12 games next season. They have an experienced, senior QB. They have all of O's guys. There is no excuse whatsoever not to not make a championship or playoff appearance.

Did not know since Dietzel LSU has beat Bama 18 times and 13 were in Alabama! I listened to some dude who said 11-1 or 12-0 depending if they win at Bama!

Zeraux will win 10 games. Miss the playoffs and finish 3rd in the west and people here will make even more excuses and say next year is the year.

You ought to take a couple more looks at this schedule if you believe 10-2 is the worst possible outcome. I'd say the worst we could do is 8-4. I'm picking us to go 10-2 with a loss in tuscaloosa and then another loss in the 3 game gauntlet in October (Florida, @Miss St, Auburn). I could easily see us dropping a game to Texas or A&M too. This is a super tough schedule in terms of the coaches we'll be facing.

AKA "I'm too afraid to put a win total because it would risk O falling short, requiring me to be critical, or assuming too little and looking as if I don't have any confidence in him"

That excuse, while laughable in its own right, was used up last year.

I'm thinking 11-1 and then the playoffs! And I've never been an O supporter but everything is in place for a great season.
