The season will not be a failure if we don’t the playoffs. It will be a disappointment, but with the rugged schedule contrary to what is being written on this board, we have to beat Texas, Auburn, Florida, Texas A&M, and Alabama / all teams that are expecting similar success as are we. O is building the program to greatness. The Joe B’s and OL play are the keys to the season.

I know. Anyone with any common sense would know competing for the west and a playoff spot would have to be 10-2 or better

O... Okay? EVERY team can argue they have a tough schedule. That excuse was used last year. You beat the teams on your schedule and don't cry about it. LSU is favored in 11/12 games. Why should they not be expected to win the games in which they are favored?

Okay. This will be his third full season, excluding the half season interim stint he had. He sold himself as the one to get LSU over the hump. The program was not in need of a rebuild until he shite the bed so hard in 2017 that it was the only way to excuse it.

I think we finish 11-1 and get into the playoff. I’m not just being a homer LSU fan either. Our schedule finally for once sets us up real well besides the trip to Tuscaloosa. If we lose to Bama as our only loss and they go to the SEC Championship game I still don’t see how they can keep a one loss SEC West team out of the top 4. I really hope the NCAA gets together and increases the playoff to 6 teams. Most people want 8 but I think 6 is a very fair number. You wouldn’t have teams bitching they missed out and be credible then.

Well the model is "hiring the best and letting coaches coach" So, logically speaking, the whole point is for our head coach to have typically smaller impact than most head coaches.
There's a much higher probability, not a certainty, that if we are hiring the best, that the only thing stopping them from being the best is someone meddling in their top-level capabilities.
Again, in a perfect system. But it does mean that responsibility for success or failure is much different from a typical top-down head coach.

What? Incompetence in the HC job has been a discussion for years. Some of us just have standards while the rest make excuses and hope for the best.
