Join me in pushing for this motive. I'm not saying we need to get rid of existing breeds for those that want one of them... just create a new breed to fit our new needs.

People have been and still are attempting to do this with tons of mixes, new breeds get recognized almost every year. It requires a shite ton of money and a long pedigree to get a new breed accepted.

Designer breeds like the idiotic doodle people are often not going to be considered because of puppy mill nature these type of breeding programs spawn that generate the wrong type of money with little regard for breed standard.

They aren't smart or easily trainable. They are middle of the road in both categories for recognized breeds.

What you are looking for is a mutt from the pound. Rescued dogs are always grateful.

Mutts for the win.

Mutts are typically healthier (a term in breeding animals known as hybrid vigor is the explanation for this). The same reasoning that promotes better health physically tends to also weed out "personality quirks" though not always.

Selective breeding, while concentrating specific desired traits also have concentrated undesired health issues in many breeds, particularly some of the larger breeds. Personality traits that are now generally not desired were the basis for certain breeds from the get go, so no surprise that they are what they are.

For me the only breeds are Labs or Golden Retrievers, everything else you can keep.

I could get on board with this. All anyone really needs is a Boxer/Yorkie. Cute little crazy thing.

Don't be an a-hole, properly crate train your dog, get it some exercise, and most any breed will work.

Neglect those things and you will have a difficult dog.

Most of us need dogs that are smart and easily trainable, lazy for the most part (not overly active), dont bark alot, cute (cause that's what the ladies like), and loving (want to cuddle, etc).
My Golden Retriever fits this description to a T. Though he was pretty active as a puppy, he started to mellow out around 3 and is now the perfect companion. He sheds like crazy though.

Isn’t this the breed that can’t even reproduce itself without artificial insemination? Cute dogs, but clearly should not exist. I hope you are enjoying your abomination against the laws of nature.
