For a kid. How old should she be before we take her to Disney?

That's all up to you to figure out. Some parents say they get a ton of joy out of seeing their little one's experience it.
My advice is to have them be old enough for no diaper changing and real food. Too much BS to deal with when they are that young.

And the OT is the worst place to ask for Disney advice.

Four or five. Try to take the kid on his or her birthday. It's even better if the birthday falls during one of the value seasons

WDW opened in October of 1971 on either the 1st or 31st, I can't remember which, but we were there for Thanksgiving. My youngest sister was 11 months old. I'm certain she doesn't remember shite. The next youngest sister was a couple of months shy of 3. I don'tw know what she remembers, but I remember her having a blast. I was only 10, and I could recognize that the kid was having the time of her life.

Apparently, so could my father, because we went to fricking WDW for every vacation until I left for college.

Seriously, taking them before 5 is a waste of time. You could entertain them just as well by walking around some trails in a state park for an afternoon.

From 5 to about 9 is close to a waste of time. They'll enjoy things better, but may not ever remember going once they get older.

10+ is my honest answer.

I've only been to Disney World twice. Once when I was 4...the other time when I was I think 7.

I only really remember the time when I was around 7.

We took our daughter at 3.5 and she had a blast and still remembers things about it 2.5 years later.

One of my friends recently took his boy on his first Disney vacation at about 4 years old. He went on and on telling me how much fun the boy had. A few minutes later, his son walked in the room and I asked him what his favorite part of the trip was. His response was that he liked the swimming pool at the hotel....you should have seen the look on my freind's face when he said that.

my advice is to take them when they are old enough to remember the trip and old enough so that they can get around on their own...or you'll be carrying them.
