My father-in-laws best friend is a train nut. He has a 2nd floor of his garage with nothing but trains / tracks. The tracks go behind the walls ect, very cool stuff.

Learn a language and lift. There’s a lot to learn about what does/doesn’t work for the body and you personally.

woodworking and sell on marketplace

It all depends on the financial side of it. There are lots of things to do if you want to spend some money. If you don’t have the spare cash, the options are more limited. I easily spend 1500-2000 a month on hobby stuff, but a big portion of that is flying.
What’s the budget?

Surprised it took this long for woodworking to be mentioned.
I built myself a work bench for my garage based on a few I saw online, has a pullout area to put my miter saw in that makes the deck level with the rest of the table.
I then built some shelves that hang from the ceiling in my garage. Just helped a buddy build both for his.
I also restored a piece of furniture that was my wife’s (no pics) when she was a baby for when our daughter was born.

Pool and Golf. You can still gamble as much as you want at both but also is fun to play and practice.

Do you enjoy shooting? ARs and handguns can be a lot of fun, but can get expensive.

I would love to do this myself but I know damn well I would have a shop full of half finished furniture.
Start with very small projects. You will see them done. As you get better, you will enjoy it even more.
Men are builders and destroyers.

Nah. Guns are cheap and they retain their value well. It’s those little things that fly out of them that are expensive. LOL

I don't mind that you wake up at 4 to sneak in some poker. But I can see why it might bother a female
i didn't end up going. i am doing some work and personal (laundry, exchanging redbox movies, etc) stuff
she didn't want me to continue to do it as a 2nd job because she'd "never see" me, so i figured the morning stuff while she slept (she sleeps more than me) would eliminate that issue. apparently, it's a lot more than just the "seeing" part

i'm replacing a hobby that netted me over $1k/month so that's a difficult question
