That big markets plays a big favor on who the League wants to see. Saints vs Chiefs super bowl don't sound like a sexy matchup to them with CFB flaws and all its still better any pro sports period

Yea but what does shrimp boat captain think about all this

IDK, the Saints definitely got jobbed, but the ideal matchup for the NFL would have been Brees v Brady. The Rams being in the super bowl isn't a benefit to ratings, regardless of LA's market. No one in LA cares about football. Two HOF QBs facing each other would draw a lot more eyes worldwide than anything else. I think we just had a situation where a referee was scared to make a call, bottom line.

Bottom line, the refs control the games. A flag here, another there, well you can guess the rest. Of course, an obvious no call is just as impactful as the ones that are called. The NFL's been rigged for decades.

I don't buy it
The superbowl is going to be a nationally watched event no matter who is in it
That conspiracy might hold up better if we were just talking about getting to the conference title game

As evidenced by the highest rated Super Bowl of all time having a team from the #26 TV market (Baltimore) and all those times that the league wanted to capture the Pittsburgh (#24), Buffalo (#52) and Green Bay (#67) markets.

Really going out on a limb to suggest the NFL predetermined these things. Color me shocked. It’s been like this for years and years. By far the best soap opera going. Even better than wrestling and the Young and the Restless. Some people still believe the results are real, which makes it so much better.
My post from a month ago because I got an early copy of the script for this week.
quote:
Right. Brady and Rodgers have down years. Guess what. Brady makes a miraculous comeback in the playoffs. They set Mahomes up to be a future star with great stats early, but he fades late and Brees finally gets his MVP. They are still not sure whether the best story is the Rams, Bears or Saints winning it, but I’d guess the Rams given lack of attendance (although that’s a sham because they are only worried about ratings).. Then the lowly Raiders, well, they make a miraculous turnaround next year. And Rodgers fires his manager, uh “coach”, and next year he starts winning again. Pittsburgh wins without the best player in the league in a holdout, then an up and comer RB fills his place while the best in the game turns down 15 million, AND, to top it off, a tight end comes in to run for 142 againt one of the greatest defensive minded coaches ever. All coincidence. Ha!

If you think big time college football is immune to this then you are stupid.

OP is silly. The refs clearly missed an offensive pass interference on that pick play where KC got the ball down inside the 5 yards line.
So there's a big no-call that benefitted the Chiefs.
Refs don't cheat, and leagues don't cheat. If it ever did, and word got out, it would kill the league.

LOL.
College Football, especially SEC football, is 100X worse than the NFL.
Get out of here with that garbage.
How many times this year have we seen players for a certain team get away with blatant head-to-head hits like that one or worse? Not to mention all the other obvious crap.
Call that blatantly bad can be found weekly in the SEC in several games. The SEC makes the NFL look like childs play when it comes to altering games.

Last years Super Bowl was Philadelphia vs Boston that’s the #4 and #10 markets it had 8M less viewers than Atlanta vs Boston which is 9 v 10. The markets don’t matter for the SB. They will 100M+ viewers and at least a 43 regardless of who plays
