Abita is getting some snow this weekend. I95 and east won't get the bigger totals like interior New England/upstate NY.

I'll post some thoughts for Louisiana here in a few minutes.

You need to check your toxic masculinity. It's not a good example to set for your transgendered son.

GFS went from "ehhhh maybe theres a possibility of some winter precip" on the 12z and to full snow/icepocalypse on the 18z. interested to see what the next run looks like.

It was 25 on Jan 14th the day of the race. It got to 14 on the 17th the following Wednesday.

The worse part was the 15-20mph wind between the buildings downtown.

Sunday morning will likely feature a brisk north wind, cloud cover, and temps will struggle to get out of the 30s. So, yeah. It'll be just a few hours after a strong frontal boundary.

There's the 12z, not showing much of anything in Louisiana.

The 6z, nope nothing.

One model run (of the GFS) does not a forecast make.

Now, to stop busting your balls for posting a single model run.

The cold is definitely coming down here starting by the end of the weekend. Likely looking at hard freezes a night or two, assuming it stays dry as is mostly shown model wise at this point. Since the cold will be in place, we can look and see what a "snowy" system would look like if it materializes.

The 6z GFS shows what isn't good for snow happening.

That low cuts up from Houston to Mississippi while deepening, keeping us nice in the warm sector.

Now the 18z, has the low cutting south of Louisiana over the gulf. Puts us in the cold sector and that's a scenario you could reasonably get snow into Louisiana and even southern Louisiana.

It's way too far out to worry about a snow scenario for Louisiana. So far, the cold part looks pretty damn good. We've had plenty of energy ride the subtropical jet so far this year and a parade of lows bringing rain. Which is hopeful, but we're a good week away from being able to consider the fine details that matter.
