Schools are closing here for tomorrow and Thursday already, sounds like I may get a snow day tomorrow

Legit looks like a snowglobe outside right now. 2" per hour right now, updated forecast 12-20"

Just noticed that myself. Shows all along the coast.

*Just updated. Looks like an ice event.

The pattern kind of sucks for winter stuff here.

Heights above average, which trends to warmer than average. This is the picture across the SE through the end of the Euro's range.

GFS ensembles aren't a great look either. As long as west doesn't have a high built over, it's going to be really hard to get snow/ice through here. Watch the Chicago temps going into this weekend, rising up fast. All the warmth from the Pacific is open to march across the country now with the ridge breaking down out there.

I see the two big 1040 mb highs up north, which is trying to push the cold in. The problem is look at the tap into the Pacific. That certainly could ice/snow for Oklahoma and northern Texas. Into Louisiana? Really skeptical.

Southern jet in charge. Another knock.

The "bust" had a lot more going for it last week.

It's the end of the month to start looking for, that's when we might get a flip to the cold pattern one last time for winter. If there's going to be a shot, I'm looking for the west coast ridge to build and the Greenland-Iceland ridge to build up. As long as the heights are low on the west coast, we're going to be too warm.
