More than 270 passengers sickened by norovirus on Royal Caribbean cruise

You couldn't get me on one of those floating petri dishes. And it's not like I'm squeamish--I live in the Orleans Parish.

There are thousands of cruises per year. The odds of getting sick on an individual cruise are extremely low. Nearly 12MM Americans took a cruise last year so it's still a very small number of people affected.

That’s like asking how an airline survives when a plane crashes.

Living scared isn't living.

Doesn't mean you don't weigh the odds in certain situations but given the number of passengers to illness, that is some lowball odds.

3% of passengers caught bug. Ship returned to doc 1 day early and all passengers were fully reimbursed. Id take those odds.

Because this guy always turns a shitty situation around with a drink and some needed perspective.

Forget the rare outbreaks. Why would you want to spend your vacation floating with society's trash on a buoyant Golden Corral?

True! If you would have been a guest at my home on Dec. 23rd, you would have had a 2 in 3 chance of getting the virus. Let's just say it was a Christmas to remember for two thirds of our family.

Go on a cruise and come home one day early AND get refunded the entire bill?

Where do I sign up?

I've never understood the draw of a cruise, but to each his own, I suppose.
