Mr. Post from CenturyTel built a really absurd thing on Lake D'Abonne. I haven't been past there since it was completed but when it was going up I wondered who was building a major hospital on lakefront property because it was way way too big to be a country club or even a high school.

Eddie Hakim's house just off the ULM campus is pretty crazy as well. He owns huge amounts of Monroe real estate and my understanding is that he and his brother invented the sippy cup?

It is the 'open floor plan' I am probably the only person on earth that doesn't like open floor plans. Open floor plans have a hotel, efficiency feel to me.

Pennington’s place on Highland was really nice. Felt like a true estate.

I figured someone would post this.

I have not been to his place here but spent lots of time at the Wedding Cake house on St Charles when he owned that. That wasn't too shabby

The house on the LSU lakes that's clearly visible from the interstate is huge. I think it's Thomas Turner's.

I've been in that house. It's nice. I knew the other one was one of the Turner's.

I'm thinking there's a place around Newelton or something in that mid-northeast part of the state that is just incredible. It's been about 15 years since I read about it, so I can't remember.

May not be in the top 10000 as nicest but there is a house west of north Corney Lake that I covet...mainly for the land. Think its owned by a dentist.

I stay walking distance from this home... so I guess we’re technically neighbors
