I'd say the majority of the posters on this board would be.

Hell, they are already mentally broken before setting foot in a prison because they whole heartedly believe it's like an HBO show in there.

Could anyone be more connected in La than Edwin Edwards, he had 3-4 million bucks at the time he was sent off, but Unglesby probably got a lot of that.

Regardless of the crime he may have committed, does anyone else think it is a crime that the head of a fund-raising department of a non-profit hospital has a base salary of over $300,000?!?!?!?!?!

Non-profit simply means their primary mission is a service of some sort and not simply a business to make money.

If someone is very good at fundraising they are well worth their pay. Fundraising is like being a salesman.

If his salary was under 10% of what he brought in, he was paying his way and fairly compensated. IMHO.

And just because the place is non-profit, don’t think that aren’t bottom line driven.

Fund raising was just part of the job. Sure it was the most visible part but he was running a $50 million organization. And I’m willing to guess that the foundation brings in over $3 million in donations a year so him making 10% isn’t shocking anyway.

He didn’t bring all that $ in himself. There are plenty of others who are out there working it also. Are they making that kind of bank?

What did this guy do with all that dang $? It’s not like he lived an extravagant lifestyle. Yeah- private school tuition and a stay at home wife but nothing too extreme

I can tell you for a fact he spent a lot of money out at restaurants. One in particular comes to mind.

I hve no problem with the salary. If he was effective, compensate him.

What pisses me off to no end, is the fact that despite his $25,000+/month salary, he still had to steal.

Most people will never see that type of salary, yet they raise their families, pay their debts and bills, and go about their lives without ever violating the law or anyone's trust. But this fricker just couldn't take advantage of his good fortune and do the right thing.

frick him. I hope he rots in prison. I hope he loses everything he's ever had.

That’s pathetic! He steals to eat and drink? He ruins his life and the life of his family to stuff his fat face and look like a big shot? That’s laughable! Gluttony is one of the 7 deadly sins though.

I mean it's more than just that. With the income he had, he could afford to go out every night of the week. He either had a gambling, drug, or consumer addiction. Because he was constantly hanging out with wealthy people trying to get donations, my guess is that he tried to "keep up with the Jones'".

Nah. You want to run a good nonprofit you got to pay good people. That's called capitalism

I believe that "THOU SHALT NOT STEAL" is going to end up causing him more trouble with the big guy.
