Well according to the news law enforcement hasn’t even talked to Funes...people are saying he stole money from kids aNd confessed...If he confessed shouldn’t he be charged with something there is no need for an investigation after all he confessed
So you have confessed person that stole money from children and the esteemed DA is saying we need to have an investigation. Either his confession is a lie told by the local “reporters” or they are covering up for the Rich and powerful in Baton Rouge which includes the LSU athletic department

Of course there has to be an investigation. They need to determine how he did it, was anyone else involved, what’s the total scope and amount of the theft etc. then they can charge him properly.

The subject of an investigation is generall the last person that will be contacted once they have all the evidence reviewed and can figure out exactly what the scheme was.

He didn’t confess to law enforcement I’m assuming. It sounds like he confessed to his employer. He has zero obligation to speak with law enforcement and my guess is with the attorney he’s hired he will not be making any statements to the detectives.

Ok, but when it comes out he was not stealing to pay LSU players, will you shut the frick up and ban yourself?

Ok so we are in agreement that this isn’t drugs, fancy dining or gambling.
This has LSU sports written all over it and this town is covering it up...
What in the ever living frick? Don’t drag me into your goofy conspiracy theory. All I said is that there is a probable political explanation for why they haven’t released more info. No where did I even lightly imply that this has anything to do with LSU. To think that he was stealing money to pay athletes is ludicrous. There are plenty of boosters with legit cash that are paying out athletes. No need to steal for that.
My bet is gambling. I have known (personally actually) a couple or otherwise normal folks that lost it all to the casinos. Including one guy who we were very close friends with who hid it for several years until it all fell apart. His wife came home to him gone one afternoon. She found out a week later the bank accounts were empty and the house and cars were being repossessed. Dude up and moved to TX to start over rather than face what he did to his family. Better believe someone in that situation would steal if given the chance.

Gambling? Maybe it involves something to do with LSU

Wait- what? I thought you were saying he stole money to pay LSU recruits? Now you are saying he didn’t do anything wrong?

His last post before going dark for a year was thanking Les Miles for leaving the program in good shape. Few posts before that he was calling for Matt Canada to be given the head coaching gig.

If he did steal, it may have just been to build his wealth or retire early.
The investigators will talk to him once they are done with their investigation or after they arrest him in order to apply max pressure. With his lawyer they know he is not just going to come in and beg for forgiveness.

I don’t believe he stole anything and there is a bigger story

If he had the money in a “retirement plan” he would have immediately handed it over and nobody would have heard a thing...what he confessed to was not having the money and so far nobody is given an creditable reason except he liked steak at Ruth Chris and he went to the track on occasion
