It's good. Forget the store stuff, make your own in a food processor. It's super easy.

Once I tried to Milk Street recipe, I was spoiled from eating any store bought hummus. I also no longer cared as much for the Cooks Illustrated recipe we had enjoyed for years.
Milk Street developed their simple recipe after a visit to Israel. It has dried chickpeas (soaked and simmered), tahini, salt, lemon juice, and some chickpea cooking-water in the basic blend.
The key to creaminess is they let the peas whip for 3 minutes in the food processor, plus another minute after the tahini is added.
All the cumin, olive oil, paprika, etc. that people like to mix in are added as optional toppings after it is done.
I was skeptical, but it is damned good.
Tahini from the grocery section of the local Middle Eastern restaurant beats the hell out of the concrete stuff you find at Kroger. It is smooth, mixes easily, and pours well.
The Milk Street recipe is free, if you give them an email address. through September 2019. Israeli Hummus recipe
