2017 UF game played at UF, featured Darrius Guice, returning starting QB, offensive line with considerable experience:
Scoring: 17 points
1st downs: 18
Rushing yards: 216
Passing yards: 125
Total yards: 341

2018 UF game played at UF, no feature RB, first-year starting QB that's been on campus a few months, patchwork OL making 6th different lineup in sixth game:
Scoring: 19 points
1st Downs: 20
Rushing yards: 180
Passing yards: 191
Total yards: 371

One OC is heralded by the board as a genius while the other is thought of as crap.

not to mention florida returned starters on D, and upgraded coaching staff.

Wasn’t that the game where Ingram, Charles, and Deculus were all on the field together for some number of drives?

SE has been crap only to the ones who really don't know the game...just ignore them.

Burrow > Etling. And not close. If Canada had Burrow that game is a win for us

Guice > Brossette and it ain't even close.

Last's year's OL > this year's OL and it ain't even close.

Yards per play:

2017 - 5.33
2018 - 4.85

Turnovers:

2017 - 0
2018 - 3

So the difference between greatness and crap is 0.48 yards per play? Even when you have a returning OL and Darrius Guice?

Each OC is heralded by the board as a genius while the other is thought of as crap.

Just depends on who you ask.

Personally NEITHER of those performances is good. 17 points sucks. 19 points suck.

this is the game that led to the departure of the not so subtly referenced previous OC.

Canada wanted to put Brennan in because he saw something he thought he could exploit. O wanted Etling to stay in. LSU went conservative almost the entire second half. UF probably would have won were it not for an extra point doinking off the post.

It's not about the OC. They don't even care who the OC is. They are just looking for reasons to bash the head coach.

They are happy right now. Let them enjoy it and quit with the facts. Aint nobody got time for that shite.

Last years Oline actually went toe to toe with Bamas DLine and gave the quarterback good time.

1/2 per play is pretty significant.

Also, are we just going to pretend the other number doesn't exist?

First off. Nice spelling, Champ

Second off, your vaunted much better RB finished with 17 carries for 53 yards. Good for a fantastic 2.9 YPC average.

returning starting QB,

Please please PLEASE tell me you'd take Etling over Burrow. I need a good laugh on a Monday afternoon.

We had 3 18 year olds on the field in both the 1st half and 2nd half in Ingram, Charles & Deculus. Are you REALLY of the opinion that they were somehow more experienced than a True Frosh, two Sophs and two Juniors? LOL

You are not good at this whole making a point thing.

That's an excellent point...

Guice 2015 under Cameron 436 yards, 8.5 ypc
Guice 2016 under Cameron/Ensminger 1387 yards, 7.6 ypc
Guice 2017 under Canada 1251 yards, 5.3 ypc

Guice's production took a nosedive in 2017.

Not when it results in fewer overall yards and fewer points with a better roster.

You can't argue that last year's RB squad wasn't superior, this year's group cannot top Guice and Williams.

You can't argue that last year's OL wasn't better.

WRs are probably toss up, this year's overall group is probably better but no one has emerged the way that Chark did.

While Burrow was way more upside than Etling, he came into this season with no experience. He went a third of the way into the season before he climbed above 50% completion percentage. He'll finish better but he's only starting to come into his own.
