When you don't take care of your own shite at home to the point it has effects/causes problems for not just your neighbors, but others far away from you....then expect some collateral damage when those others come and take care of your shite for you. That's just part of life. It isn't pretty, but that's pretty clear black and white cause and effect to me.

can you say with 100% confidence that no one working for the american gov't has ever targeted innocents?

I have a friend that is a retired CIA agent, recruited by the Company from the Green Beret, his entry level position was to "make his bones," so to speak, he has told me of a couple of eye opening missions, was talking about the ragheads being our next big threat almost 15 years before 9/11

The restraint shown by those in power after this incident is in some ways amazing. I am relieved that I was not responsible for directing the US response.

There was a fundamental breakdown in the sharing of information between our intelligence agencies. They dropped the ball and have admitted that fact. It could have been stopped.
