Cheserek is sponsored by sketchers as well

I’ve only worn the Razor 2s once but they didn’t treat me all that well, I’ll break em out again at some point

I’m a fan of the Razor 2. Great treadmill speed session with them today. Best lacing system I’ve ever used and love the fit.

Maybe you Arkansasians have goofy feet.

Or Roots and I are just scrubs compared to you two.

One of the two.

Wore the Razor 3s for 5 miles yesterday and another 10K today. So far I like what I feel. Yesterday’s run the upper felt tight and stiff but loosened the laces today and no problems. There was plenty enough cushion but not too soft. It was very forgiving on mis-steps and think it’ll provide the cushion I was looking for on longer runs. Similar to the Speed 5 it seems the more I give the shoe the more it gives back. I am not a burner by any means but have run more miles at increased pace without my legs feeling like they paying for it.

I’ll update after I get more miles in.

Hey Roots... How do you like those Beacons? Pretty good shoe, huh. Very versatile IMO.

Yes, love em. Can’t beat the foam-weight ratio IMO. Rotating them with my Ghosts for easy work, but they could easily be used for up tempo also. Find myself reaching for the Beacon more often than not over the Ghost, as I love the cush.

The only thing I don't like about them is the steep drop in the insole around the toe area. It's rather strange. Thought it was a defect at first, but a buddy of mine said his has the same feature.

officially retired my Brooks Ghosts 9s.

over 500 miles on them and the lower was still kicking. the upper was just beat to heck and done for. i was embarrassed for people to see them in public with all the fraying on the heel collar and stains of dirt i couldn't get out.

little sad to do that as it's the first "nice" shoe i bought 2 years ago when i decided to start trying to do this running thing more seriously.

i haven't tried the 10 or 11, but to date, it's the best running shoe i've ever had and i'll probably go back at some point. not the fastest, not the most cushioned, but by far the most versatile shoe in my collection. didn't mind them for speed work or a long run.

Skechers GoRun 600 came out of the closet. i'm fairly certain i won't get as many miles on them, but i enjoyed a good tempo run this morning in them. first time i tried to push and was pretty pleased.

Sorry, I don't want to dig through 12 pages. Where do y'all recommend I get fit for shoes in Lafayette, La?

I'm wearing some Adidas I pulled off the rack at Academy. They are getting the job done, but I am sure I could have better.

Tri Running on Johnson/South College or Geaux Run in the Oil Center.

Anyone ever test shoes for Saucony? If so, did they return the shoes to you after they finished their inspection? I've been testing the Triumphs for the past 2.5 months, and have to return them in a couple of weeks. I've enjoyed running in them and would like to continue to do so with little to no interruption. I'm trying to determine if I should buy a pair in time for when I mail these off? The individuals at Saucony have not returned my email request.

You all have given great advice in the running thread , especially for beginners, and since this thread popped alive I had a quick question -->

Vaporfly 4%

I see a ton of comments about them in the running thread but I can't tell if they are being made fun of & mocked.

Are they worth buying? Are they best for 1:30:00 half people only ? If the fit works, can a normal guy training for 1:55:59 get them without looking like a fool ?

Some mocking but overall respect.

I admit that I poked fun at some of the dudes that have them because ROI on a non elite is minimal. They come off looking like status symbols built for Instagram whores but... Right now, it's the best racing shoe on the market. Notice I didn't say running shoe. I think science broke down that the 4 percent improvement was 3 percent pebax foam and one percent from the carbon fiber shank.

NY Times

Outside Online

Alternatives that have that same foam in some respect are the Nike Zoom Streak 6-7, the Nike Pegasus Turbo, and the Reebok Float Ride Run Fast @ 110, 180, and 150 respectively. These are all racing shoes.

All that being said, if I ever get a chance to run a big race, I'll race in the 4 percents or the up to date equivalent until they are dethroned.

They are 100% legit. Unlike anything you’ve ever ran in. If the price doesn’t offend you much, then go for it.

I plan to get another pair after these are destroyed (probably after my next marathon)

Burt - you’ve been using the ZF FK for your 5K’s? I’ve never used them for anything less than 15K, but have a 5K coming up next weekend. Wondering if I should grab a pair of Streak or something similar that’s lighter and a lower drop.... and cuz I haven’t bought a pair of shoes in a month.

Actually looked hard at those awhile back. I wanna say I found some (different colorway) for like half that price.

Thanks guys for the information.

I'm as cheap as they come but I do get a health & wellness bonus at work for running/working out that offsets nearly all my costs per year.

I have worn Ghosts & Hokas for training and might look into something for race day--> with no Instagram posts directed to Burt !
