Was there this afternoon. It is a nice set up. It was scorching hot but I didn’t mind it. There was a lot of space. Had a sign that said “292 max occupancy”

Chicago has lots of rooftop bars. Went to one while visiting, and it was nice and comfortable even mid-summer once the sun was down.

Not sure how it would fare at home on 100 degree days.

It will be the opposite of Chicago rooftop bars. It's will be pretty nice October through April and hot af May through September.

If you aren't a twat, the evening times will be fine until June.
How about you all praise someone in BR for nutting up and adding to the outdoor bar/restaurant scene. This is a good thing.

I think it's cool and people act like it's hot all year long. It's really hot for 4 months. There will be plenty of enjoyable December and February days on the rooftop.

Cooler months will be great. And after the sun went down it was nice. It’s just hot until then. Most of the rooftop is facing the sun as it goes down. But the actual bar area is shady, and the dining area has curtains that are drawn to make it shady til the sun goes down

I had forgotten but the beer prices were pretty good too. Hadn’t been in a while. They aren’t upcharging as much as most places are now

You can get a 20oz Bud Light for $2.50 during happy hour. Not bad at all.

Went yesterday evening. The setup is very nice. While hot if you're in the sun, it cools down just fine when the sun goes down

I agree. Would love to see similar renovations along Chimes/Northgate. So much potential but grossly underutilized

Are they going to have someone stationed below to throw all the ping pong balls back up?

For real though, looks pretty damn nice, hopefully will get to check it out next time I'm back.

Looks like something you would build out by the pond on weekends off

I get where this post is coming from.. and agree. The railing doesn’t look substantial or safe at all. Like something we’d build for a Phi Mu Exchange. One brawl will have have half the occupants on the rooftop falling headfirst onto the sidewalk.

Yep. Really doesn't help the way they built that awful inward facing strip mall along State Street in the old University Shopping Center lot. Horrible design decision. Should have made all the businesses facing State Street and spearheaded the same sort of revitalization of Chimes.
