I firmly agree with you. The newark airport and city of Newark are both godawful. It is like they stopped building anything new in the city of Newark 40 years ago and decided they would just leave as is with little regard for upkeep. Straight out of some apocalyptic movie.
As for the airport for a airport of its size it lacks amenities on every level. Go through Houston intercontinental airport and compare it to Newark and you will see what I am taking about. The grounds around the Newark airport are blighted just as the city is. I think both the the city and airport at one time years ago were nice places but many years of a political parties reign has reduced it to what it is today. A damn shame. I don’t see how either ever recover.

You obviously don’t fly United. Their terminal (terminal C) is nice at EWR. Everywhere else, I absolutely agree with you. Third world.

St. Louis sucks, but Newark truly is the worst place in America.

You ever been to montgomery at night?

I stayed in the"nice" hotel area for work years ago. Almost got car jacked in the hotel parking lot. At 3pm.

Imagine the impression if you were stuck at a hotel near the BR airport?

I’m assuming you mean cities? There’s about 100 towns in rural Louisiana that’s way worse than Newark. Newark is bad but there’s plenty of shittier cities in the south that Newark.

Newark>>>> Little Rock, Monroe, Ellick, Jackson, New Orleans, Memphis.

Yeah I agree the United terminal is pretty nice. The food is way overpriced but pretty good. United can kiss my arse though. 2 Fridays ago I had a 2:50 direct flight back to NOLA and they delayed it every 45 min until almost 10 that night just to cancel as we were starting to board. Crew timed out. No flights available until Sunday afternoon either. 5-6 hours to retrieve a checked bag. No fun. I don't fly a ton but maybe once a month and the majorities of major issues I have had is in freaking Newark.
