But be careful in this heat. It can fry everything, not just the Va Buttonweed
That shite will fry St Aug in south LA especially as hot as it is right now.

As long as my yard is more green than dirt, I don’t care what kind of crap is growing out there. It’s just a vegetation area around the house.
Except for stickers. I don’t like stickers for grass.

If that shite can overtake a lawn in Texas right now it deserves it

Yep. You have to use 2-4D early in the season
Right now MSM is your best bet

I am actually replacing my entire front lawn this coming Mon because of VBW. I gave up trying to get rid of it. So I killed the entire front lawn and rented a sod cutter to take it up after it died. But, patches still came back so I dug it up and finally seem to have gotten rid of it. Zoysia comes in on Mon. VBW is very difficult to get rid of.

Nothing compared to torpedo grass. I wish they would develop something for that menace.

Get a bottle of Celsius and it will last forever. It will take out the Virginia buttonweed

As said, you just have to use the proper chemicals for your grass during the proper time of year. Nuke it when the time is right, then keep an eye on it.
Not sure if it's common, but I also found that the VBW did very well in wet shady areas that my st Aug didn't do well in. Keep your st Aug long and healthy and keep an eye on the areas that don't do well.
I also have no issues nuking small patches as the st Aug will Cree back fairly quickly. Better to have a dead patch than VBW.

There is only one product that will kill this weed. MSM Turf and I have tried them all. It came out in the last few yrs and there is essentially no info or reference to it on the internet. Guy at Cleggs Nursery turned me on to it.
Evidently it is what turf producers use.

It did in my yard. It killed the nutsedge too

Yes it's bad stuff. Just one word of caution.....if you have dogs some of these weed killers (including 24D and MSM) have been shown to cause cancer in your pets. Having gone through this with my dog I now am using different methods to kill the weeds in my yard. More work but hoping to not go through that again.

Hi yield grass killer
It won’t kill it permanently but it will keep it at bay

Do you have to mix MSM with water in a sprayer? What’s the ratio? I’m getting this stuff as soon as I get home Wednesday.
