Do y'all think Trump will push for Marijuana legalization?

I think it would be a solid move before the election. It would be hard for the left to hate on that move unless he tied a bunch of legislation to it. I also think he should pardon a lot of non violent users/dealers. It would save a ton of tax money and potentially shut down a large portion of the cartel's business.
thoughts?
edit: hell, he could use portions of the taxes generated from it to fund his wall.

I would LOVE to see how the left would shift and be against it some how.

I hope so. I have no idea whether it would be a net-gain or net-loss, although I'm sure he's got analysts who do and that will ultimately inform his position.

It would certainly gain a lot of independent votes.
If the Evangelicals can love a notorious philanderer, they can certainly be ok with someone who proposes legalization. What are they going to do, vote for the inevitable far left wing loon the dems are sure to run?

The Dems would say trump did it to put African Americans out of a job

If he did it’d be as a late into his second term. He would risk alienating too many people pushing legalization.

I think the proper move would be to make it legal Federally then let the states decide for themselves.
I personally want no part of it being legal. That being said i think it SHOULD be legal on a federal level.
I would support my state making it legal if they taxed the frick out of it, used that tax money wisely (lol) but also make it to where if you get caught selling it without a proper license you gte hit HARD with fines/jail time. It will help clean some things up

I think he’ll have to get rid of Sessions first. I’ve never smoked weed in my life, but I’m in favor of legalization. Less crime, and higher local revenue.

quote:Nope. Nonviolents in prison is over stated. Dig into their history and you will find a violent past.

It's up to congress. He's already said he would sign

Would be a smart move for him.

He may do it in the course of his presidency, but I doubt it really becomes a key re-election position.
Dems will just nominate someone who is also pro-legalization. So it won't become a defining issue.

He'll give it to the states, imo

I think he's always been for States to decide.I'm sure he'll state this.
I think he will reign Sessions in on Marijuana Legalization.
States should decide and the individual States should prosper. Not the Feds.

Cartels would JFK him if the CIA didn’t first. Disputing billions in black market revenue is a death sentence.

This is my prediction.
Will make a promise and then let it be known that even his enemies say he keeps his promises

It will never happen with the current Attorney General.

Would be a good move. I wonder how it would play with the hard core neck trumpkins.
