The Grateful Dead's jamming style is boring and often very aimless
Phish understood things like tension and how to construct a thematic jam much, much better than the Dead did.
But the Dead wrote MUCH better music than Phish, and Dead are certainly a more culturally important and more well rounded band
All that being said, Phish jams better. Period.

My favorite bands are all unpopular with a large majority of people. Most people like what’s played on the radio stations. It’s actually nice to come to this board and find people who enjoy some of the same music.

I legitimately, and passionately, despise Van Halen...and every other “hair band” from that era...except for maybe guns ‘n roses.

West End Motel
West End Motel
Killer be killed
I’ve been on a kick of listening to side projects of bands that I love for the last several years.
I don’t know a single phish song.

Let It Rain is a much better song than Layla.
As good as Hendrix was he couldn't hold a candle to Jeff Beck.
Going to California and The Battle of Evermore are two of the worst songs Led Zeppelin ever recorded.

Pearl Jam is more overrated than Nirvana.
NIN's version of "Hurt" is better than the Johnny Cash cover.
Shawn Lane was a better guitarist than Hendrix ever was.
Stevie Ray Vaughn was a great guitarist, but his solo music sucks something awful.
Outside of 4-5 great songwriters, country music has always been terrible - it's not a new phenomenon.
(1) The Beatles are the greatest pop band ever, and (2) Paul was the most instrumental member, and (3) despite this, George Harrison's All Things Must Pass is better than any single Beatles album.
Bob Dylan deserved the Nobel Prize.
Sticky Fingers by the Stones is the best album of all time.
"Age of Consent" by New Order is the best song of all time.

I think all jam bands blow and are for mental patients, especially Phish and the Grateful Dead. Couldn’t care less about listening to a generic song for 17 minutes
I don’t get Stutrgill Simpson. He has “Carl mouth” like Billy Bob in sling blade. His lips don’t move when he sings.
Nirvana and the Doors were above average rock bands who had bigger than life lead singers who died very young, thus there “allure” is multiplied x 10

Van Halen is the best American band ever.
Grunge ruined rock and roll for almost 20 years
Foo farters music all sounds the same- yelling over bar chords.
Led Zep had the best run of albums in history.
Oasis released pure sh!t music.
Pantera was the best metal band ever. Whenever I hear of the " big 4" , I chuckle at these goofball bands........especially Anthrax and Slayer.
Country music is for retards unless it's David Allen Coe, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson or Hank 3.
Stevie Nicks sings like a baby goat.
Slash is a sloppy lazy guitar player who can't bend a note to correct pitch.
Jackyl singer Jessi James should have replaced Brian Johnson in AC/DC. Axl Rose sounded like crap trying to sing ACDC.
