$300k?

You could cobble together this info in excel.

God forbid the most qualified contractor get the work.

What's the real kicker is a ton of DBEs are run by white guys and the monitory or woman listed as principle is just a figurehead.

For construction contracts, probably. But there's lots of other government work for engineers, consultants, vendors, etc.

Thanks for the answer

300k that could be used to target harden Baton Rouge Police Headquarters.

But instead the City/Parish will pay over 100k in overtime for 40-60 officers to provide round the clock security during multiple incidents requiring heightened security.

Seems very, very, legit Sharon.

She’s not even trying to hide her true motivation any more. She wants more city-parish contracts to go to black-owned businesses, regardless of whether or not they are qualified to do the work. So, she comes up with a list of predominantly black-owned consulting firms to do the study. This woman really is a POS.

$300k for this group to look through the data and make pretty charts showing whatever the data tells them?

You can bet there is a kickback involved here, and someone's auntie or "cousin" is getting a cut of this consulting fee under the table.

That's why you need a good US Attorney to put these thieves away.

State and local governmental entities must follow specific requirements in order to properly
expend public funds for purchases. These requirements are found in statutes, rules, and
executive orders issued by the governor. The objective of procurement law is to increase the
public's confidence in the government’s ability to purchase materials and services for the best
price. These laws also help ensure that all persons who are involved with procurement are treated
fairly.

All public entities must follow the Public Bid Law for the construction of public works.

Study is worthless. Lots of code and laws and several long documents that summerize procurement with public funds. The last line of the first quote is what the study is aiming to find out. But with sealed bids, how can everyone not be treated fairly if the lowest bid that matches procurement law and the bid specifications is the bid that is chosen. To choose someone otherwise in the name of diversity is a violation of law and in turn, not diversity.

Now, if the lowest bid that met the bid specs was passed over for being minority/female owned, then it would be a problem

There's finally going to be some equality in Barrron Ruuuudge.

There’s equality in Baton Rouge every day of the week, I’ve seen every color and sexual orientation stuck in that miserable line of traffic on the bridge.

Now let’s get a bunch of black, white, and brown men and women to go to the I10/I110 junction and add three more frickin lanes.

Wait till they start awarding these jobs based on color for big road/bridge improvements. You want to see shite shows.

They awarded the on ramp to the new Stan Musial Bridge to minority company(ok forced them to award it), and the morons did not angle the concrete, so water would drain off. Instead, they leveled it, and first rain before it was even open, and they had 2 feet of water standing on the on ramp.

So, company doing majority of work had to tear shite up and redo it, the work was shitty to begin with. It actually pushed the opening back nearly a week, as they had to literally redo their shite work.

Enjoy, this is coming

what if the study shows that the contracting process heavily favors minorities and/or women?

It will not.

To get a contract your business has to be minority owned or owned by a female.

It's discrimination pure and simple.
