Exactly. Anyone with a fricking brain knows what the conclusion will be....racial/gender bias. You don't hire someone to conduct a "study" to tell you you're wrong. But this isn't really a "study". It's just what they have to call it. It's a transfer of $300k of tax dollars to "friends" of the Broome campaign for "reimbursement" of money when the time comes.
You know. When I'm looking for someone to build a structure the first thing I look for is "what does the contractor look like." If they can actually do a good job is nice, but not necessary. Broome just wants "factual justification" to give EBR's tax dollars to her friends.
....still opposed to the St. George effort?

Guess this cinches my decision on the tax issue coming up for a vote soon. If the city has money to piss away on these “studies”, don’t think they need more of mine.

It would make so much more sense to me to parcel that $300k into smaller $10K to $20K low interest loans that current minority owned businesses in BR could apply for by submitting their plans to increase inventory, buy equipment, add staff, etc, in an application that could be reviewed by a panel of local business and finance people to determine the plans submitted that have merit. Seems like that would support local minority owned businesses and help them grow, create jobs, and help the local economy, with the chance that money could be repaid and then used to fund additional loans. Instead of giving to some out-of-state firm to do a bullshite study.
