quote:I would add that the long format adds to the refreshing experience of having full thoughts and ideas fleshed out among the participants. Instead of 30 second soundbytes offered by the MSM, these interviews last 1-3 hours and allow for a multitude of subjects to be adequately covered and debated. Rubin and Rogan (and now Shapiro with his Sunday special) give these guys a platform to bring their thoughts to a large audience, and they moderate the discussions pretty well, although the more they bring together minds like Weinstein and Peterson, the less they are able to control the conversation, I’ve noticed. They just have to sit back and marvel at the discussion taking place. Not that I’m complaining
Really open conversation

Sam Harris can almost pass for Ben Stiller

There is definitely an uncanny resemblance. Every time I watch him I think the same thing!

Maher is far too beholden to Hollywood elitests to fit in with the dark web types
They’re turning against him though. He should know that simply from how Sam Harris became famous. When he’s fired (I really don’t think IF is on the table), I fully expect his first move is to go on Harris’ podcast. His celebrity friends are turning against him, and Maher is doubling down on his IDW friends. He’s had Bari Weiss on 3 times so far this year. I do think Maher probably realizes he has 4 years or less before the establishment does him in.

For sure...I loved seeing Shapiro on there last week. It just sucked he couldn't stick around for the overtime. Him vs Moore would've been hilarious.

I was done with Maher after he cucked to the black outrage machine

Meh....unfortunately there's not much you can do nowadays. I disagree with almost everything, politically, with Maher. But I love his show and he's one of the few on the left that call out the PC bullshite.

Maher isn’t going anywhere. To add to that, he’s already been fired once. His ratings on Friday’s according to HBO have been approximately 4 million people.
He’s been doing this show for well over a decade and invested-wisely-into Vice and Viceland. On top of the money from his show-which was renewed for three more years last year (through 2020)-and his investment in Vice, he’s also got a still very thriving career as a standup and has done several premium cable specials. Hell he’s written two books in 15 years and even financed a film while on HBO.
He’s not going anywhere.
I do love the picture and the touchstone it provides us in a sense. There is still an appreciation for civil, rational and thoughtful discourse in this country. These gentlemen embody the hope it finds a Renaissance of sorts.
But while we remain hopeful, it’s constructive to remember that Joe Rogan-the most popular podcaster in world history-will be the first to tell you that even though Apple has depressed the results artificially, the most popular, most downloaded podcast in his shows history was with Alex Jones.
So there’s still work to be done.
ETA: For those who may be interested, Sam Harris’ last appearance with Joe Rogan had him bring on the guy who will go down in history as the man who brought down the Southern Poverty Law Center by successfully suing them, winning $3 million +, forcing a very public, widely distributed retraction and setting them up for a mammoth class action lawsuit from other people and organizations.
With the Courts against them, I see extinction in their future. All because of that guy Harris brought on. Worth a listen.

Those videos are pseudo-intellectual gobbledygook. They sure can take on straw men with a vengeance though!

Rogan does interesting interviews at times, but I don’t find him particularly intelligent. Above the average American, to be sure, but well below the others at the table.

I’m sure there are. There are many ignorant people. You should be a little embarrassed about embracing and openly celebrating your ignorance though.
