Judge hands defeat to Mueller team in Russian troll farm case

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team was handed a defeat Saturday when a judge rejected their request to postpone the first court hearing regarding charges against several Russian companies and Russian citizens that they charge with attempting to use social media to meddle in the 2016 election.
An arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday for Concord Management and Consulting, one of the three Russian companies Mueller accused of contributing to a Russian troll farm operation to spread discord online during the presidential contest.
Mueller's team asked for a delay on Friday because it was unclear whether the firm had formally accepted the court summons for the case, but U.S. District Court Judge Dabney Friedrich, an appointee of President Trump, denied that request in a brief order Saturday. No explanation was given for the decision, according to Politico.
Mueller's prosecutors on Friday revealed that two of Concord's attorneys made multiple discovery requests seeking nonpublic details related to the Russia investigation, an effort which had been included in the request to put the arraignment on hold.
In response to the request by Mueller's prosecutors, Concord's attorneys said the defendant "voluntarily appeared through counsel as provided for in [federal rules]" and denied any push to "quash" the summons. They also accused Mueller's team of not replying to all of the discovery requests and of attempting to "usurp the scheduling authority of the Court."
Concord has named in an indictment obtained by Mueller that was announced by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is overseeing Mueller’s probe, in February.

How stupid are these assholes?
They have leftist kook judges galore to shop and nutjob grand juries in both DC and NOVA and they still get bitchslapped repeatedly?

The minute entry just denies the continuance. I wouldn’t get all slap-happy yet.

So he indicted 17 Russians he believed he’d never actually face for optics. 3 called his bluff and he gets BTFO and a judge denies his attempt to scramble?

And yet somehow they managed to retain counsel and show up to court. Mueller is a fricking hack.

Requests that Mueller never thought would happen. Now they need time to fabricate necessary items or destroy those they don't want to disclose.

Seems like a theme is developing.
And yet Sessions sits on his hands and Rosenstein refuses to live up to any ethical standards.
Maybe I'll just keep posting this until Sessions or someone with integrity decides to take action against this abhorrent abuse of power going on with the SC:
Berger v US
"The [prosecutor] is the representative not of an ordinary party to a controversy, but of a sovereignty whose obligation to govern impartially is as compelling as its obligation to govern at all; and whose interest, therefore, in a criminal prosecution is not that it shall win a case, but that justice shall be done. As such, he is in a peculiar and very definite sense the servant of the law, the twofold aim of which is that guilt shall not escape or innocence suffer. He may prosecute with earnestness and vigor - indeed, he should do so. But, while he may strike hard blows, he is not at liberty to strike foul ones. It is as much his duty to refrain from improper methods calculated to produce a wrongful conviction as it is to use every legitimate means to bring about a just one."

But earlier on this board I was assured that the request by Mueller was routine, and would have no problem being granted

Here’s an idea, Bob. If you aren’t willing to comply with the law regarding discovery, don’t indict. This isn’t rocket surgery, you idiot.
I honestly don’t understand all of the hubbub about this man and his investigation. He’s a bumbling fool. And he has proved it over and over again in his career.
He has gone so far afield from the mandate that he was appointed to investigate that he is causing ridiculous ripples. A washed up porn star doing anal videos to stretch out her 15 minutes and grab some cash? The constitutionally guaranteed protection of attorney client privilege? Trying to financially ruin families of people who may or may not choose to cooperate with this absurdity?
This fricker is out of hand and needs to be reigned in, fired or possibly investigated himself.
It’s a clown show, now.

Hmmm... seems your source re-edited the link...
you provided this-LINK (dot) com/news/judge-hands-small-defeat-to-mueller-team-in-russian-troll-farm-case. Where the narrative skewed a request to delay into the case bring a defeat. And the circle jerk in here followed with the fairly routine ole mean old Bob is a dirty dirty man. A couple bothered to read which is a sign of possible enlightenment; however they still failed to report the gist of truth was the case was to go on as planned.
That's it.
Meuller's team asked for a delay, because "two of Concord's attorneys made multiple discovery requests seeking nonpublic details related to the Russia investigation", which they (the team) had interpreted as meaning the Russians weren't ready to show. And instead the Judge ruled, nawh boy's...let's get this show on the road. The title could have as easily read small defeat (original link) for Mueller as it could have read big defeat for Russians.
Ever notice how the easiest to melt are also some of the easiest to be lead that way?

Honest Bob getting his arse handed to him, again. HA! His merry little team of democrat lawyers are a joke. I heard he added another dem hack lawyer; making it 18 or 19 total now. Many are saying that the biggest cases only have three lawyers on a team.

I suspect we will see a very uncooperative Federal Judiciary as related this mess. The Judiciary has to be furious at how they were manipulated over the FISA Warrants. It made them look bad and they don’t like to look bad.

The arraignment took place today as scheduled, and Concord pleaded “not guilty.”
Per the Washington Examiner, Eric Dubelier (who represents Concord) again said his client had not been “properly served" by Mueller's office, which seems to “keep open” the questions asserted by the OSC in its briefing last week.
OSC attorney Jeannie Rhee also told the judge that it is likely the federal government will need new summonses against the other two Russian companies charged: Concord Catering, a company owned by Concord Management and Consulting, and the Internet Research Agency., ... probably because service thru the Russian government has been ineffective. (The Russians refuse to effect service).
Judge Harvey set a status hearing to determine if a new summons is necessary for May 16. Apparently, the parties will brief those issues in the next week.
I look forward to seeing the transcript.
