What are you basing this on
Miles losing the program which led to his firing
Why didn’t Les have a support staff, for instance?
Why didn’t he use recruiting tactics like putting commits on billboards throughout different cities?
The guy never adapted on field & surely let some things pass him up off the field

The whole shadow staff stuff started taking hold in 2015-2016. That was when you had Saban bringing in Sarkesian and co.

Who does this?

I feel Like celebrating O for having a bigger support staff is pointless when he went 9-4.
Great so he didnlow end Miles work with MORE help.

No one is under the impression that Les was wrongfully fired or was eager to adapt on or off the field. Credit where it is due to O for hiring some analysts and such. But what gives you the impression O will adapt ON the field where Les wouldn't? He literally just hired Les' tight ends coach to run the offense.

Ya!! Kendal briles because he is young must be better, right?
Youth is a factor that's in his favor, yes.
He's also better because he's versed in modern offensive philosophy and looking to climb the ladder vs a 60 y/o position coach that hasn't done the job in 20 years, was content as TE coach and had to be convinced to take the job.
What are the odds that someone that reluctantly takes a job is going to excel at it? Who takes that option when there is no shortage of enthusiastic, younger coaches to choose from? Really calls into question O's motives.

saw the team improve on the back half of the season last year. Even O detractors mentioned it.

When the first half of the season includes a loss to Troy at home and a 30 point loss to State there's no where to go but up.

what holes were filled?
Biggest question mark is still at qb and ole boy still hasnt recruited one.

The 3 main guys running the ship were all hired by Les. Why would this year be any diff? Especially considering people think Les sucked at hiring.

For those who don't follow CFB.
Bama has been having a large support staff since 2010-2011
Luther Davis was on staff handing out money in 2012

After shitting all over itself in the front half. Sorry, but 9-4 against a historically-weak SEC, followed by O firing his only major hire to date doesn't exactly engender a wealth of confidence.

Right, but everyone else started following suit around 2016. It's not fair to say Les was resistant to change when only a few coaches were doing it.

He lost to a 14 point dog at home as interim O.
That was a game in which virtually everything that could go wrong did. We beat UF every place but the scoreboard. Jackson crapped himself on that long pass and the two fumbles. Guice's worst game as a Tiger.
Regardless, O has a lot to prove but that comment just meant that he's more relaxed, comfortable and perhaps confident versus the situation last year with internal conflicts.

It's hard to do worse than getting arse raped by State and losing to a sun belt team. Do you want to take a look at the teams we beat down the stretch individually? We beat one team with a pulse. Yeah, we could have seen an all-out collapse so I guess O deserves a measure of credit for avoiding that. But again, the totality of last year doesn't give me any reason to have faith in O, especially considering the (to put it nicely) less-than-inspiring offensive coordinator hire he made in the offseason.
