I think for the most part we are in agreement. My point is don't avoid the communication.
I think so too, and I agree.

Perhaps the OP could've framed it better. You're right that removing porn won't suddenly make your relationship happy. But that's assuming that there is a problem with your relationship in the first place.
Removing porn doesn't have to be an attempt at solving a relationship problem. It could simply be a proactive personal choice.

It hurts my relationship. If I didn't jerk off we'd have sex twice, maybe three times as much as we currently do.
It's my fault though - I don't want porn to be banned, I need to overcome jerking off in the afternoon.

I am currently single. How does porn hurt my relationship with my penis? Are you going to tell me that all the love I show little CJ is really just abuse? If so I thought part of the problem with abuse was the inappropriate levels of intimacy.
I'm so confused. Maybe something's wrong in my head.

Does any of this study factor in if the 'porn' we watch is of our significant other?
I don't think it covers gay porn

How much time are people spending watching porn? Enough to learn a language or an instrument??

I dunno. Looked purple but I went for it anyway.

I have porn whenever I want it, including at work, since I'm self employed. After the novelty wore off, I find that I rarely partake anymore.

But you'll live a much more fulfilling life

While I think porn is helpful when single and during a slump, I 100% that it’s destructive to relationships. Porn is fantasy. Real women in real relationship (at least the type women I desire as a partner) do not do things like ATM, a-hole licking, etc. That’s a fantasy that I’ll be happy to do with a hooker, but not someone I love, respect, and value, all of which is required in a committed relationship. If you watch that stuff in a regular basis, you cant help but begin to think ya’lls sex like is boring and no doubt you’ll blame it on her. That’s a direct result of porn always pushing it to the extreme. While I admit I sometimes watch it, it’s not very often. Porn is destructive, I don’t see how anyone can doubt that.

This is confusion.
So, am I supposed to want to have sex with myself but just NOT have sex with myself? Because you are telling me to stop having sex with myself.

Who's to say that some of the issues that lead to infidelity (lack of physical and emotional intimacy, abuse, etc.) aren't also the reasons people are drawn to porn? So maybe they are both symptoms of the same problem and not the cause for each other.

Yeah, this right here is bullshite. You’re obviously very insecure about your sex history if you feel the need to make such blatant lies to anonymous readers on a message board. I actually feel kinda bad for you.

I think porn is only a problem if you're looking at it daily and spending hours at a time on it.

So, is this "hurt" like umm... spanking type hurt? Cuz that's kinda nice from time to time. If you're into that kind of thing.

I get excited when I see these threads. I think, "YES! Finally we might get an interesting thread about this. With facts and proof and some semblance of legit work put into the study.
Then, disappointment. Every, single, time.
"Do y'all have negative communication? Yes? And do you watch porn? Put another check in the porn column, Larry!"
