It depends. The stage graph only takes into account water that is already on the ground. If we get more rain through the valley or enough down here to keep things soaked and slow the flow, then it could reach that level. Another factor would be warm weather melting the snows that fell last week. Again, none of this is used in the predictions

That's not true. They use the 48 HR rainfall forecast in the river forecasts.

All of this rain is considered. It obviously could be much heavier or lighter, but this is part of the forecast nonetheless.

Supposed to get 2-4" of rain today through Thursday across North La, North MS, and Arkansas area to add to the water.

Since when? We've always talked about the rains not being part of the prediction. If that's the case, it's helpful, but it still doesn't do much to adjust the crest in BR which is over 2 weeks away. Maybe that's what I'm remembering being discussed.

We just had historic flooding up here in Northern Indiana. Look at news stories over the last week for Goshen and Elkhart Indiana.

Had about 18 inches of snow the week before last, then got about 5 inches of rain last weekend. This shite is all flowing down to you guys.

Your welcome.

I don’t know since when, but it has accounted for current water + 48 hrs of predicted rainfall for a long time.

I'm waiting for the prognosticator of prognosticators to come out with his forecast:

Yeah. I'm reading up on it now. I remember the conversations here in 2016 about the stage graphs and how they didn't take into account rain. I must have forgotten the specifics. Thanks.

Yeah, they cook in future rainfall to an extent.

Also, if we get toward 41' in BR, they'll divert more down the atchafalaya. It takes a whole lot of water with the diversions to rise that last four feet.

Before any LA spillway, it got to 57.1 feet at Vicksburg. It got to 48.5 feet last spring, for reference.

This is the current projection and very close to the crest.

Red River Landing is the best gauge to use for us down here because that's the one they use to determine if they open Morganza.

We didn’t quite get to 1997 flood levels here in Louisville, but it was a Top 5 flood for us. And we’re supposed to get more rain later this week to add to it.
