It is a matter of faith. Christians don't hold Christ's crucifixion against the Jews. Jesus offered himself as a sacrifice. He did this to prove his love for them, the Jews. He was resurrected to prove his divinity. The resentment lies in the rejection of Jesus as the messiah after his sacrifice and resurrection. Jesus had fulfilled the Jews prophecy of a messiah and the Jewish leaders rejected him in the name of political and religious power and cultural racism. Christ's mission was to save the Jews first and then the rest of the world. They rejected the truth so it was offered to others.
Christian culture exploded and that resentment went everywhere it went. It is now just a cultural artifact that all the things mentioned here keep alive.

One of the most racist people I’ve ever known was a guy who was born without a hand. He hated blacks and Jews with a passion. I guess if he put others down he could feel better about his handicap. Never understood him. Strangely, he was married to one of the nicest, most caring,most loving women I have ever known.

Yes, Jews were allowed to loan money and Christianity and the Koran did not allow it. Therefore for 1000s of years Jews were the only bankers. This made others hate them as they charged interest and would do the things bankers have to do when people didn't pay their debts. It also made them wealthy.
This is where the Jews are 'cheap' thing came from, loaning money and banking.
So you had people that were very close knit, that loaned money, and were wealthy.

I'm not sure why they are hated, but I do know that:
Jews don't recognize Jesus as the messiah
Protestants don't recognize the Pope as the head of the church
Baptists don't recognize each other in the liquor store
