I think they also keep the money within the community. Jews like to deal with other jews for the most part. They don't like sharing the wealth.

Pontius Pilate is directly called out in the Nicene Creed (profession of faith) despite attempts to avoid His crucifixion and washing his hands of the matter, and the after-the-fact converted Longinus (St. Longinus) is considered the man who killed Jesus with the spear of destiny with the final of Jesus' 5 holy wounds.
They're hardly inculpable according to the faithful.
