What kind of idiot burns his restaurant down without greasing the fire chief's palms up first?

What a shame.. the place served great food at a reasonable price. Was always busy at lunch when I went. His wife who works as a paralegal seemed like a very sweet lady.

You would have to be an idiot to burn down multiple restaurants.

I wonder what kind of prison time he is looking at?

A fireman was injured at the Cast Iron fire.

He better hope the Feds don't get involved. They like to prosecute federally when firemen get injured and there are some pretty severe minimums. This is one of those where he will most likely be doing time and not getting probation even at the state level.

From the article...

quote:

The firefighter, Stephen Mitchell, sustained second-degree burns to ten percent of his body.

Owner should serve a lot of jail time for that alone. Burns like that are very painful and treatment for the burns is painful as well.

Worked with this guy almost 15 years ago in the mortgage biz. We both got our start at the same company. I don’t have a bad thing to say about him from that time.

Saw him at a Parkview Football Game late last year. He represents the 2nd former coworker in the past month to be arrested for crazy BS. I worked with the accountant who was using fake profiles back in the day as well.

Weird stuff.

Hope the best for the firefighter.

I don't wish any ill will towards anyone, but he is a shitty person.

You could always hear him in the back at the Italian Bowl yelling at his employees.

And he would often fall behind on payments to his vendors.

I know his wife and kids have to be hurting as he was putting them through school at Parkview. And his wife must be an absolute trooper considering the amount of shite that has been made publicly about him. Who knows what it is like behind closed doors ...

If we don’t know each other then we know some of the same people. I knew this was coming the second the second he set fire to Cast Iron.

Has he had some other public issues before this? Between the restaurant business and the mortgage business, I can’t believe I don’t know this guy but I just don’t.

I’m a bit confused. Does he own the Cast Iron Kitchen too or just work there? The article only says he owned the restaurant in Prairieville. If he doesn’t own the one on Jones Creek, then why would he be setting in on fire for insurance money. That shouldn’t be his problem to solve.

He should have consulted the guys that owned The Caterie and Fairway View Club before dabbling in such nefarious activities.

About 10 years ago we had a strange little business in my town. They had kites, model airplanes, gunsmith and sold fishing bait. A new bait store opened up that was FAR superior. A few months later it burned to the ground and a few months after it burned a huge cell tower was put in its place.

The owner makes more off the tower being on his property than the business made. Everyone knew what happened. Guy now just goes fishing everyday. Smart bastard.
