Ever since the Rapture, this board has been downright fricking terrible.

Apparently, every movie sucks and heaven forbid its made by Disney.

This is literally worse than when GoT is in season.

Can we please get back to some healthy medium where I can have fun discussing movies with some of you who are really intellectually sound when it comes to films!

MM/TVGA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't disagree with this statement but you can only beat a dead fricking horse so much.

80% of the threads are about comic book movies or Star Wars. This is my favorite board on TigerDroppings, but come on y'all.

The problem isn't the frick-Disney people. It's the attention whores who insist on starting their own threads for current or previously discussed films/TV.

If the movie's been released within the past year, do not start a thread without Googling for the previous thread. "Just saw Get Out. What was the board's thoughts on this movie?" is a fricked up thread to start. If you wanted to know our thoughts you could've searched for the old threads and got our thoughts. And you didn't want to add to the conversation by bumping an older thread. You wanted to start a "Look at me I saw a movie" thread.

Anchor or delete duplicate threads and you'll prevent the upcoming Every-thread-on-the-main-page-is-about-Infinity-Wars dilemma.

We need better movies though.

I would say Hollywood SJW is what is killing the M/TV board.

While we're talking about ways to make the board great again, how does the board feel NetFlix and other Binge shows should be handled?

There has typically been a non spoiler thread and a spoiler thread. I personally think this splits and limits a discussion that's already hampered by by the binge format itself. Spoilers usually start showing up (with warnings) on page 3 of these non spoiler threads. That's typically enough time for people who haven't seen the show to get non spoiler 1st impressions to see if it's worth watching. I say the thread starter puts up a warning on what page the spoilers start and let the discussion roll from there like I've done with the Altered Carbon thread.

Opinions? Other ideas?

Well we’re not supposed to bump old threads and talking about older movies is fun. I don’t want to only talk about new releases.

I would say that the M/TV Board looking for SJW messages in every movie is killing the board.

This I agree with 10000%. Just do a quick search and read a thread on an old movie. If you want to add your opinions go ahead and bump the thread.

The best idea I've read that makes the most sense, although tough in practice, is to make one season long discussion thread with link to threads for each individual episode in the OP. You just anchor each individual thread immediately, so they're only accessible though the OP master thread.

So tired OP would be: Stranger Things Season 3 Official Thread. And the OP would have a link to a thread for each episode. That way people can discuss the episodes as they watch them in anchored threads that won't clutter the board, and the overall season can be discussed in the main bumpable OP.

Also, spoiler free threads after a property had been released have never made sense to me. If you don't want to be spoiled after something is release, don't discuss it on the internet until you've seen it.

It doesn't require any looking. It's being shoved down our throats. Some movies it comes with the territory. You can't really make 12 years a slave without it, but that shite does not belong in Star Wars, Ghostbusters, and every other movie being made. It has become forced and tiresome. I don't need to be lectured to by people who live a different lifestyle than 99% of America.

The other thing that pisses me off is the metoo movement. They want to lecture us at every award show, when it seems to me that their industry is the biggest culprit. How the frick does that work?

Yet you decided to start another Star Wars thread that basically could have gone in the Solo Trailer thread.

This should be implemented 100%

Since when? You want people to rehash their same opinions when a theatrical release goes to DVD three months later?

Just Google for the previous threads, pick the one with the most discussion, and add your thoughts or questions.

Asking, "What was the board's thoughts on this movie?" for a film that was released within a year is just fricking lazy and attention whorish.
