Neat.

it's bullshite?
Yes.

whether it is or isn't there.
No it isn't. The conversation is why this board is so shitty. The constant and repetitive complaining is a huge part of that, regardless of what the makers of any of these films have or have not said about anything.

it would be out of character for her to be repulsed by a "flyboy" considering that's exactly what turns her on.
And if Tumblrina really was all girl power, she wouldn't have tried to look hot by wearing a prom dress while insisting that her 50+ year old chicken neck be completely covered. It's that flash of typical female vanity that reveals and defeats them.
And, lest we forget my thread from a few weeks ago, the Rebellion is now commanded by this fricking gargoyle, whose previous credits include "Womb" and "Suffragettes."

Are you saying I'm too mean for this place?
It's a quieter, gentler crowd here from what I've seen.
Besides, why take the time to use the perfect rod, the perfect fly, etc. here when you can just go toss a stick of dynamite in the poliboard pond?

Maybe, but they still have it coming.

Boredom. It only goes so far when it's that easy.

Well, no, you go out of your way to try to look for it. You make fun of "snowflakes", yet you are one in this regard.

You are one of the reasons we need this thread. It isn't your opinions. It is your lack of civility.
As a rule you don't talk about the movies. You talk about the other posters. And not to engage with one of their arguments. More to just take a shite in someone else's punch bowl. Coming in to complain about other people melting or call them names isn't the kind of normal discussion that made the MTV enjoyable to read.
As a good rule of thumb calling someone a racist, a nazi, a liberal, or anything else that reduces to an insult designed to stop discussion just isn't good enough (this is more for everyone than just you, I've only seen you play the racist card in this thread).
You aren't the only one but yuck. If you need an olive branch I will admit some of the people you argue with can be rude as well.

You are one of the reasons we need this thread. Instead of talking about movies or TV shows, you're in here whining and spewing your feelings at me.
It's the Internet. Deal with it.
That didn't happen, liar.

And you don't address any of his points and attack him as a person. It's his point.

I addressed every one of his points.
Jesus.

Yeah, your only point is he's whining at you and don't address any of his other complaints.

I try very hard not to conflate an argument with a person's character. I also try to avoid personal insults. If I hate a movie I will sometimes overstep by talking about how much I hate the movie. I know that some people who don't feel the same way will be offended and sugar coating some venom would be more to my own advantage.
But I really don't think I attribute personal motive or malice to other people expressing their opinions. To me that seems like a jump past civil discourse into just wasting time. I do sometimes learn from good arguments that I disagree with around here. I've just noticed a degradation of careful thought and decency in debates on the MTV board.
If you did not mean to imply people were upset about a certain TLJ asian character because they are racist then you have my apology.

I addressed them all. I'm deeply sorry if I didn't address them to your satisfaction.
Posted on 2/5/18 at 2:59 pm to molsusports
I have no idea why they were upset. All I know is how they behaved and what they complained about. The rest isn't important to me, and I have no desire to unpack it further.

And I think that's not true anymore. We are all just meaner to each other, less tolerant of opposing viewpoints, and most importantly, like Barton Fink WE. JUST. DON'T LISTEN.

Since when?
I thought it was a longstanding tigerdroppings rule to not bump old threads. Maybe I’m wrong.

You want people to rehash their same opinions when a theatrical release goes to DVD three months later?
Why not?
But I agree, if we’re allowed to bump old threads, that’s fine. Put your thought into the old thread.

This.
I meant the point should be that for deep conversations you have to keep it in as few places as possible. Let's just say that after a good discussion of The Shape of Water falls off the first two pages, someone watches it again and starts a new thread.
As someone in the old discussion, would it be prudent for me to 1) Copy and paste my thoughts from the old thread to the new thread 2) Just quickly comment, "Yeah I enjoyed it too" and move on 3) Not comment at all because I've played this game.
If I have new thoughts, I should want to integrate into the already existing thread, as I shouldn't expect people to rehash their thoughts yet again.
To add: I think Metacritic Tracking threads, Box Office threads, and all of the things that require no thought just add to the mess. I mean, those threads almost inspire argument, not discussion, based on whatever preference is taking place.

Is it ok to bump old threads? I’ve been here a long time and always thought we weren’t supposed to. Is there even a set of official written rules? I don’t see any on mobile site.
